Being married for over 33 years to the same person, I might have learned a thing or two about listening. 2) You need someone who is 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 with 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞. I am continually learning and bringing new Insights to my clients... Not only have I been in some kind of sales job for more than 30 years, I have been in the Business to Business (𝐁2𝐁) 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 Product 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 since 1998 (23+ years). That's 23+ years of IT Solutions Sales, 23+ Years of IT Solutions Training (from hundreds of vendors), 23+ Years of Listening to clients, 23+ years of... 3) You need 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 because you are busy. I respond to my clients within minutes to tell them I have received their communication, and will usually have an answer the same or next day. 4) You want 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲. If I were not an honest salesperson I would not have had the number of successful years in B2B IT sales that I have had. I would not be the successful person I am today. 5) You want someone who can 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬. I have been a problem solver all my life, I was trained by the US army initially as a 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 when I was 20, then went to OCS and was 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 flying the UH-1 Huey and OH-58 Scout helicopters. I was also trained as an 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, a few years after flight school, for a mobile Air Traffic control unit providing Navigation, Flight Following and Tower operations for Army Aircraft. With the addition to my other experience, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐈𝐗 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬. So, what will it take to have a conversation? #change

Post daily with authenticity and humility to build my personal brand and social presence. 2. Reading books to be more proficient in my skill sets. Currently reading Atomic Habits and I highly recommend. 3. Putting my goals in front of me. Every morning, I write down what metrics I want to accomplish for the day. 4. Working on 2-minute drills / presentation skills. I want to be able to deliver my pitch to anyone, anywhere. 5. Following up. Never leaving a stone unturned. You never know what one more call, email, or DM can do! Danger danger danger! This job post came across our desk this week. Can you spot the red flag? Orgs where CS reports into Sales can work...but it is rare and difficult. Sales and CS are often opposed when it comes to how to serve the customer. Sales-oriented CS orgs become much like inside sales teams, but with far more responsibility. CS needs a clear reporting structure that is not ultimately beholden to sales.

As an Agent I have had a solid career selling products and services based mostly on relationships, I am gravely concerned about the current state of our industry. I am a relationship salesperson, that extends to and relies heavily on Carrier relationships. I have noticed an alarming trend of Carriers walking in and leveling nearly if not all of their sales teams only to then go back and hire a younger sales associate @ a lower rate and seemingly zero training or even worse as a recent example 500 seats and below going offshore to call centers. I 100% cannot and do not speak for most Agents but I personally would rather have a relationship with a known Carrier sales rep than a SPIFF. As Agents we need to be asking the hard questions, what is causing this alarming trend and what can we do to change the culture? Bad Carrier customer service is becoming an epidemic and pretending like it doesn’t affect us is not the solution.
