This year my focus has been to deep dive into critical areas of Business Operations Protection to include; 1) Data Defense and Access Assurance 2) AI Defense 3) Convergence 4)and Transparency.  I’ve spent A LOT of time with leaders, visionaries, and new technologies to discuss, interpret, and start to convert discussion into action, capabilities, and practitioner education.  This conversation is indicative of what I believe is going to consume 1/3 of our time in the future as cyber, privacy enforcement, and data enablement for AI, business, and product become the responsibility of advance security programs.  Data Defense and Access Assurance is “simply” the ability for us to:  a) Know where the data within our care, custody, and responsibility is  b) Contextually understand what those informational assets are beyond just simplified classifiers and understand how they are being use in accordance with our company’s responsibilities to that data.  c)Know who and what (data stores, applications, data lakes etc)  has access to that data internally, externally, and across jurisdictional lines. With the number of data protection and care acts, privacy laws, consumer privacy, and data use in technology laws climbing every year, this will be a MAJOR effort in all of our programs that will new technology, new capabilities, new talent, and new approaches.  This was a great chat with Richard and looking forward to being a part of the solution through driving discussion, transparency, and education. #cybersecurity #cyberdefense #datadefense #privacy #privacyenforcement #privacyengineering #ciso #cisolife #transparency #ai #aichallenges
