Carrie Borchers’ Post

Personal post: we’re about the close the books on our fiscal year. My Presidio team grew our business nearly 13% (12.87% to be precise 😉). This was a Herculean effort given the economic headwinds we’ve encountered! 👏👏🥂 Now would be the time of night I would call my dad and say, “You want to hear what your girl did?” And he would say, “Sure! Just remember I knew you when you thought you wouldn’t be any good at sales”. It’s this banter that I miss every day. Dad was proud to hear of my accomplishments. His teasing of “remember, I knew you when you were a nobody” wasn’t an insult or an attempt to diminish or gaslight my achievements. Rather, a way to compliment me on my efforts and remind me what really matters and from where I started. As an accomplished sales professional in the aluminum industry himself, he knew the greatest joy I have is seeing my people succeed. If they’re succeeding, I’m succeeding and fulfilled. My heart is full! Today, unprompted I received a couple notes of gratitude that tell me I’m where I’m supposed to be, doing the things I’m designed for, with the people I’m supposed to be surrounded by: “You are so good for this company and our team, I love learning from the women powerhouses!” “You're such an awesome cheerleader - thank you!” “Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I'm more excited now than I was when I started. The team is really coming together, it's gonna be a great couple years!!” Hey, Dad! Look at your girl! ❤️ I know you’re smiling down from Heaven proud of me and reminding me to be humble.

Will never forget the first time we met & I asked how your weekend was. Your answer was full of grace and kindness talking about the loss of your dad & how being vulnerable in the work place is of the upmost importance. Congrats to you and the team! Presidio’s culture & drive is bar none because of people and leaders like you. No doubt he’s proud.

Your dad would be very proud. There is a big difference between having a team that reports to you and being a leader that sets the example and compels others to want to participate in their success. Cheers! Congratulations Carrie.
