I've always admired Jaia Thomas and what she's built with Diverse Representation which is a platform on a mission to increase the hiring and exposure of African-American agents, attorneys, managers, and publicists who work in the sports industry. Whether it's through events, educational opportunities, or content they've done an incredible job bringing awareness to DEI in the sports industry. The biggest lesson I've taken away from the work they're doing is that this is something that requires a collective effort and continuously needs to be championed. Changing representation or the conversation around what the business of sports looks like isn't going to happen overnight. But it can happen in time with intentional actions and by building a community-focused movement behind it.
