Caroline Goon’s Post

This photo captures, for all that could make it, President's Advisory Commissioners from the Clinton Administration to the present, significant figures, and staff that supported the work. Saving this photo to show at the 50-year anniversary! Cannot thank the team that pulled this event together enough and our leadership team, and Cabinet Leaders who were willing to come out on stage wearing aviators to embody "AGENTS OF CHANGE" -- thank you for indulging our out-of-the box ideas! Our emcee, Richard Lui, knows what crowdwork means, and truly made our program so special, as well as the talented David Kwong who magic'ed his way into our hearts. What can I say about Bing Chen that he doesn't already know, except that this venue having gold-painted ceilings was almost just too perfect -- I digress, Bing is just top notch and I'll leave it at that. Our front-of-house, mainstage, and back-of-house staff and volunteers deserve the true shout-out, and without you all, we could not have done this. Next up, White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders will see you in St. Paul, MN, and Orange County this summer! To the wonders that lift up our communities on the daily: Daphne Kwok, Chiling Tong, Jan-Ie L., Tina Wei Smith, Lisa Hasegawa, Amy Tarnoviski, Kerry Doi, Sonal Shah, Shamina Singh, Victoria Huynh, Grace Huang, Kamal Kalsi, Philip Kim, Mia Ives-Rublee, Dilawar Syed, Ai-jen Poo, Emily Chen, KaYing Yang, John Duong, Deeana Jang, Andrew Peng, Gabriel Young, Jamie L., Judith Teruya, Ejaz Baluch, Jr., Erika Ninoyu, Barbara Holston, Jiaqi O'Reilly, PhD, Jason Tengco, Kiran Ahuja, Ajay Bhutoria, Kevin Thurm, Chris Lu, Paul Watanabe, Rachel Rabusa #LastingLegacies #AANHPIHM

WE DID IT JOE!!! But in all seriousness, huge kudos and appreciation to you Caroline! All the blood, sweat, and tears you’ve put into this came to fruition and I’ll do my best to remind you how much you killed it despite the dishwasher sink being thrown at you everyday! Woo Hoo! #QueenCaroline #BritishCaroline

You all did a wonderful job with the event. It was great to meet up with fellow commissioners from 25 years ago. As President Clinton said during his video address, "glad that some of us are still around." Sad that some are no longer with us, Like Laura Efurd and Secretary Norm Mineta, the first Chair.
