Unyte-iLs Unyte Health Inc. Yes! Virtually every single concern that brings people into therapy involves nervous system dysregulation. A great deal of what we consider "mental health" concerns are actually rooted in our physiology. Other times nervous system dysregulation can be the effect of what has brought someone into treatment, such as with grief. Working with physiology is, in my opinion, absolutely essential for our work as therapists to be effective. Talk therapy alone often helps our clients to understand their problems better, to have more insight about themselves, and to cope better with their difficulties. Those are all good things. However, it's important that we aim higher. I don't want my clients to cope better with their difficulties - I want them to be free of them, or as free as possible. I am trained in a staggeringly long list of modalities. My currently favourite set of tools are: Somatic Experiencing, Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP), Brainspotting, and IFS and other parts work approaches. With Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) especially, I very often see shifts that would typically take decades to achieve with other approaches - if they were achievable at all. #Polyvagal #TraumaInformed #Unyte #SSPYoda #SafeAndSoundProtocol #SSP #SSPProvider

I am so tempted to train in this Carol Ann Brayley, MSW, RSW, SEP 💗🙏.. like you a list of modalities.. that all came together in amazing ways when I incorporated stacking our brain 🧠 in our favor as (I call it) and nervous system regulation

1mo"I don't want my clients to cope better with their difficulties - I want them to be free of them, or as free as possible." YES. I get tired of hearing things like "x therapy to manage your anxiety" as if it's a life sentence that will require daily work to keep under control. It's not. It wasn't for me, and it's not for my clients.
