I love this sentiment so much - it really captures the hope of primary school kids when they have the chance to explore and design possible futures for themselves. Yeay it's about me, all the awesome things I could do and the amazing person I'm going to be! As a principal said recently - 'you might call it career education but it's actually wellbeing by stealth!'. #careereducation #engagement #wellbeing #primaryeducation
We know that young people are thinking about their future and where they fit in the world long before formal career discussions usually take place. Here's how one Yr 6 student described having the chance to explore the world of work using BECOME and think hopefully about what their future might look like. Inspiration before information! #careereducation #primaryeducation #somuchmorethantalkingaboutjobs #education #careerdevelopment

Luck >>>> Hard Work in Campus Placements 🎯 So, you've probably heard it before:- "Campus placement is all about luck!" Let me share my own placement story to shed some light on this age-old debate. It all started when a renowned company visited my college for campus placements. I was geared up for the online test and fully prepared. Due to some glitches, a few students were not able to sit in the online round, and I was one of them. Our Training and Placement Officer (TPO) immediately sprang into action, reaching out to the hiring manager and pleading for a second chance for those affected by the glitch. Thankfully, the hiring manager displayed understanding and agreed to allow us to retake the test. It was a moment of relief and renewed hope! 🚀 ✅ Fast forward a couple of days, and I cleared the online test! The relief was immense. But the real twist came during the face-to-face interview rounds. Around 46 students got shortlisted for the face-to-face and I was the last candidate on the list—a nerve-wracking position, right? 🤔 Surprisingly, the interview was abreeze—just three simple questions: 1: Introduce Yourself. 2: Share your internship experience. 3: Are you comfortable with the office location? 🗣️ With confidence, I answered these questions But, to my dismay, I didn't make it to the next round. 🙁 ❗ The shocking reason? The hiring manager was only looking to hire 4 candidates and had already shortlisted 20 candidates from the first 30 who appeared in the face-to-face round. My number was a daunting 46, and by then, they had already filled their quota. The interview for the rest of us was essentially a formality. 🌠 So, here's the lesson:Rejection in campus placements doesn't necessarily mean you aren't deserving Sometimes, it's a matter of luck and timing. Don't let it deter your confidence! 🍀 Remember, the right opportunity will come your way. Keep striving, keep learning, and your luck will align with your talent. 💪 Never underestimate the role of preparation and perseverance in your journey. Luck may open the door, but your skills and determination will keep you inside. Share your own thoughts on this topic. Let's inspire and encourage one another! 💼🎓 #CampusPlacements #LuckVsPreparation #KeepGoing

Career Counsellor.Helps students to make rightful & informed career decisions.Through discovering who they are, where they are going and how to get there.
#Teachersday2023 Secondarily teachers are career guidance counsellors, role models & future shapers consciously or not. As we honour & celebrate their day today i specifically celebrate the teachers who; ✅️ Serve as career counsellors for students executing it as a process rather than an event i.e Identifying interests and goals, abilities and aptitudes, integrating those interests and aptitudes, assisting them in the subject selection, exploring different careers, holding career conversations oftenly and providing them with career advice continously. ✅️Know their students well enough to see their innate talents and areas for progress, and can provide parents a sneak glimpse into their child’s interests. ✅️Are not only responsible for imparting subject knowledge but also intentionally without ceasing instill moral ideals in students. ✅️ Encourage students to express themselves and talk about their feelings. ✅️Strike a balance between constructive criticism and praise. That's what's required of a teacher in this 21st century. Do you know of such a teacher? Celebrate them always Happy Teachers' Day
