With Great Tools Come Greater Rewards Figma has introduced so many updates and features—from token creation to variables, team audio collaborations, and dev mode. Now, drafts are moving to teams??? It's a heart-breaking story for a designer. But as a product designer, I guess Figma is finally into business... Recently, I had the joy of graduating and decided to revisit my design files. During this reflection, I discovered that my Figma subscription is expiring soon. As a long-term user and someone who loves Figma's environment, I considered renewing the software. However, since I continue to use Figma for my organization, I'm excited to explore new options for personal projects! This exploration led me to innovative tools like Creatie, Miro, and Marvel. Each application offers unique features and possibilities. I’m particularly excited about Creatie, a next-gen tool with smart AI options that enhance creativity. The landscape of design tools is vast and ever-evolving, and it's always about finding what suits you best and how well you can use it. Here's to new beginnings! Hey fellow designers, have you heard about Creatie? It's the latest tool causing a stir, and I'm genuinely intrigued. Here's the scoop: the interface feels oddly familiar, like a sibling of Figma. Worried about importing old designs from Figma and XD? Easy-peasy. And the best part? with the Ai assistant, Producing design guidelines and system structures is a breeze – just one click, and you're good to go. Sure, the community is still small, and we're lacking some of the bells and whistles. The absence of external resources, templates, and modules is noticeable. But I think Creatie.ai has the potential to shake things up in the design world. So why not give it a try? Who knows, it might just become your new favourite tool. Let's explore Creatie together and see where it takes us! I've started redesigning one of my projects in Creatie to master it and understand its details better. Of course, I am currently testing it, and there are some flaws in the work. I will try to post the full demo here soon. With Figma Variables, dark mode is just a click away! I love how Figma implemented variables, allowing designers to create a solid token system. This new Figma feature inspired me; this is why I decided to develop a startup concept and create a fully personalised design system with variable tokens. It was a truly enlightening journey where I tried to reverse engineer the best design systems by industry leaders. Figma has 100s of great plug-ins that we can use to improve our daily workflow and productivity or generally to make designing just that little bit easier, especially when it comes to more complex initiatives. Below are a few plug-ins that form part of my daily workflow when building or working on design systems. 1. Tokens Studio - https://tokens.studio/ This is my go-to for token creation and theme management within my design systems. Tokens Studio also brings an efficient process to design and development. I could not imagine life without tokens these days. 2. Stark Accessibility - https://www.getstark.co/ Accessibility within design systems is incredibly important, and there are many tools we can use to check this. Still, I personally prefer Stark Accessibility as my all-in-one tool to ensure accessibility standards are met. 3. Radix UI Colours - https://lnkd.in/eMKHtw3i Sticking to the accessibility theme, everyone knows I am a big fan of Radix; a comprehensive colour system which provides a number of scales with 12 steps in each scale for at least 1 specific use case. 4. Automator - https://automator.design/ Automate just about anything. Let's be honest; some Figma tasks are incredibly time-consuming and menial. I use Automator for a lot of these tasks. Also, it's FREE now, which is even better.
