Really great to see two of my former colleagues Rob Felix and Sarah Hillary talking about small molecules for cell therapy manufacturing. These two completely opened my eyes to de-risking small molecules for manufacturing when we worked together. Needless to say a small molecule isn't just a small molecule, most products will have impurities from the synthesis process and you need to understand their profile and what impact and risk those can have. Until being educated by the team at Tocris Bioscience I'd always considered small molecules less risk than something that's of biological origin, now I always recommend making sure you know your small molecule inside out and working with your supplier early on to make sure there is a path to something properly risk assessable. #cellandgenetherapy #atmp #celltherapymanufacturing #ipsc #celltherapy
