Carl Eschenbach’s Post

On Father's Day, I'm thinking about the impact my dad has had on my life and career. He was more than a father; he was also my mentor. He worked in a dynamite factory, then started his own businesses, selling ice cream in the summer and Christmas trees in the winter. He was a lifelong entrepreneur who eventually owned his own restaurant.  He taught me the importance of hard work, integrity and most importantly, always putting family first. He led with his heart and was humble and grounded-- no matter what level of success he achieved. While our career paths were vastly different, he shaped me into who I am as a leader. Stay open to unexpected mentors in your life. I am grateful my dad was mine! Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers or father-figures out there!

I learned over the years with my Dad, I was my Fathers only Son. I learned how to be a leader with integrity, how to fish, how to be be a pacifist when appropriate; and the development of my social being. Most importantly, the love of sports and all the nuances that come with the NBA NFL MLB and our Cal Bears! More than a few times he would wake me after bed time to run up to OAK to welcome the A's or Raiders home from a championship! And in the 70's there were many. He may be gone but I am the likes of him and couldn't be prouder!

Terrific legacy. My dad is a retired truck driver, a long path from what I do in software sales…but man the lessons I took from him I have forever :) Happy Fathers Day.

There is little more rewarding or important than being a father and husband. Servant leadership starts in the home. Your father's legacy lives on in you, and continues with your children. Honoring our father's impact on our lives is a way to cherish their memories and mark us as men of integrity and authenticity! Well done, Carl! Happy Father's day!

What a beautiful tribute to the impact your dad had on your life Carl. I know you lost him young, but he left his powerful and cascading footprint on this world - you! There are many influential leaders, but very few are humble, grounded and lead with their hearts. Like father - like son!!! Happy Father’s Day to you!

Love this! My work ethic and integrity in business is because of my dad. Still today, he gives the best wisdom and advice. A great reminder for Father’s Day and all days.

Great Father’s Day story Carl. As we get older, we realize a lot more of how much our father’s influence was on our lives, not just the business side too.
