Abridge saves time…and heartache. 🙏 Dr. Daniel Truong (D.O., Sports Medicine and General Pediatrician at Mercer Island Pediatrics) shares how Abridge has elevated his practice. With Abridge, he shaves off 5-10 minutes from each visit, saving 12-16 hours a week—allowing him to be more present for his patients. Before using Abridge, Dr. Truong found himself completing patient charts about 10-20% of the time right after each visit. Now, thanks to our technology, he's increased that to 70-80%. But it's not just about saving time and increasing efficiency—his patients are reporting a more enjoyable experience when he isn’t typing at a computer screen during their visits. For mental health appointments, this shift is especially crucial. Dr. Truong highlights how encouraging it can be for patients when a PCP is focused solely on them as opposed to focused on charting. Big thanks to Dr. Daniel Truong for sharing his experience with us! Curious to see Abridge in action? Get in touch! https://lnkd.in/epf2wVyg #healthcare #GenerativeAI

IAPFS is pleased to announce the April webinar. Topic: Nomenclature: ARFID And PFD Presented by: William Sharp, PhD and Praveen Goday, MD Abstract: Criteria for ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) and PFD (pediatric feeding disorder) overlap, but they are not the same. ARFID is a psychological diagnosis whereas PFD is a medical diagnosis. Individual practitioners may use the terms differently. The criteria for ARFID has changed over time. All of this lends to complexity in patient care and clinical research. There are also billing implications. Learner Outcomes: – Contrast ARFID and PFD criteria. – Apply ARFID and PFD criteria to patient diagnosis. – Explain ARFID and PFD criteria to design treatment plans. IAPFS is excited to be able to share that CEUs and CME’s will be available for this webinar! As a developing area in the United States, the Rio Grande Valley in Deep South Texas, is in an ever increasing struggle with the rise in obesity and diabetes among the population. As stated by Lacar, MD in JAMA pediatrics, "the Rio Grande Valley in particular, already has one of the highest rates in the country for type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults and mortality from cardiovascular causes." So, it is the function of this platform to talk about those issues and bring understanding and shed light through technology, research, and the leadership components. Our local communities are the most important element, they are the engine that allows for a healthy thriving society. It is critical to bring the best research and education to this population. We need to find a way forward, that can reduce the cost of health care, while allowing for a healthy happy community and people. This starts with leaders in our community, having the conversation and getting the information across and equipping the next generation of young people in the Rio Grande Valley with the proper tools to execute to succeed. The way forward, is not going to be evident but it is going to take work. And I will leave you all with the famous words by Winston Churchill, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." #riograndevalley #texas #healthcare

Imagine the future of pediatric medicine… After a dramatic weekend of Ai news, I played around with some #genai this morning. This is the result when you ask Midjourney to "imagine the future of pediatric medicine." A few things in this image really stand out to me: ⚕ The child is wearing a stethoscope, and is put in the same role as the doctor behind her. She’s in control as she is role-playing being a doctor - something we know can be so impactful to reduce anticipatory anxiety and improve compliance with treatments. 📚 There’s colorful, presumably storybook imagery laid out on the table. Medical communication is seemingly brought into the language of children - in a format that they’re familiar with consuming and understanding. 🐻 Medical play! This child appears to be caring for the stuffed animals around her in the same way the doctor in the background might care for her. We know that this medical play is instrumental in helping children emotionally engage in their care. The only problem I have with GenAI’s interpretation of the "future", is that all of this is all already happening! Whether with our products, or some of the incredible work child life specialists (The Association of Child Life Professionals, Inc.) do in a hospital…the future is now! #design #ai #midjourney #midjourneyartwork #innovation #health #happiness #mentalhealth #empathy #goodnews #motivationmonday #socialimpact #pediatrics #healthcaredesign

Unlike some health conditions, there is no simple test to confirm PANS, PANDAS or BGE! With most illnesses, a child will be diagnosed after a doctor has run lab tests, taken a full report of the child’s health history, and performed a physical examination. With PANS and PANDAS, there truly is NO confirmatory lab test. If it is PANDAS triggered by strep, tests may be run too early to demonstrate elevated strep antibodies or a child may have immune dysregulation without the ability to mount an appropriate antibody response. In addition, with PANS, elevated chronic viral or mycoplasma titers may not indicate the present disease trigger and with regular lab testing, we may miss Borrelia, Barontella, Babesia and more. In short, PANS/PANDAS and BGE are clinical diagnoses. The key is in the HISTORY and physical exam! 🔑 I teach medical practitioners and parents how to diagnose PANS, PANDAS and BGE in my Membership Program. This month, our live and recorded monthly teaching will be on Strep and PANDAS so check it out @ drohara.com/membership. #PANS #panspandas #BGE #panstreatment #Lyme #lymedisease #borrelia #bartonella #babesia #functionalmedicine #functionalmedicinedoctor #pediatrician #doctor #childrenshealth #healthcare
