Rebuilding Together Dutchess County continues to accept donations for the work we do… We focus on critical home repairs and accessibility modifications for neighbors in Dutchess and Ulster Counties. Please join us in supporting our cause as a central part of your mission this year. Those neighbors we have assisted reported feeling a restored sense of pride in their homes again. Prior to our support 86% of those neighbors reported having had trouble entering and exiting their homes - this is no longer a concern. In addition, nearly 70% planned to pass on their property to a family member, friend, or an important cause they wanted to support. The average annual household income of those whom we serve is just $24,916. Often this limited income must cover the needs of multiple individuals, including necessities like food and healthcare, aside from the essential home repairs, and safety needs. Winter is coming! And its New England so "Winter" could literally mean anything. If you are facing financial insecurity, or without a house/home, this season is particularly harrowing. During this season I will be working to connect our Generators to opportunities with Somerville Homeless Coalition to donate their time to some community service, and later this month, to donate warm winter clothing and high-need items. Being a good neighbor is checking to make sure their plates are full, and offering a warm coat before they need to ask. We're here to do both! Support Our Mission to Distribute at Least 5000 Winter Care Packages to Homeless People This Year! Last winter, PIL took a significant step toward supporting those in need. Through a coordinated effort involving donations, volunteers, and community partners, we achieved the following: Delivery of 1,500 winter packages filled with warm clothing, blankets, and essential supplies. Raising a remarkable $12,000 to fund this essential initiative. This success touched the lives of many homeless individuals, but our mission continues, and our goals are even more ambitious this year! What We Aim to Achieve This Year: Distributing 5k+ winter packages, each carefully assembled to provide warmth and comfort. Expanding our reach to more areas across Canada, ensuring that no one has to face the harsh winter unprotected. Achieving this would help us become Canada's largest youth-led distribution of care packages!!! How You Can Help: Your contributions are the backbone of our efforts. By donating, you help us gather essential winter supplies such as jackets, scarves, gloves, and much more!
