The passion and power of engaged youth is alive and well at Santa Monica High School. Had a great time attending a special “Plugging In” ceremony at SaMoHi this week to celebrate the school transitioning to 100% Green Power with Clean Power Alliance. We learned how student leaders (and hardworking staff and stakeholders) helped bring this effort to fruition and ways the school is embracing many sustainability efforts throughout operations and curriculum. CPA's CEO Ted Bardacke announced that SaMoHi has become a CPA Green Leader and presented them with our special welcome kit. Thank you Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District for partnering with CPA to move SoCal closer to a clean energy future!

Exciting news! Clean Power Alliance is launching our Power Ready program with clean energy backup power systems to be installed in public facilities across LA and Ventura counties at no cost to our partner communities. Power Ready makes public buildings, which serve a critical community purpose, energy-resilient by installing solar-plus-storage systems to ensure a backup source of clean energy is available when a power outage occurs. Clean energy backup systems help avoid harmful greenhouse gas emissions that traditional diesel backup generators may emit – providing a tangible way to help communities meet clean air goals. https://lnkd.in/gJ7Za-_U

The Clean Power Alliance team got together to help spruce up the planting beds at Mudtown Farms – a nonprofit urban farm that provides nutritious locally grown foods in the community of Watts. We loved learning more about this vital neighborhood resource that aligns with our mission of building healthy, sustainable communities in Southern California.
