How can we (academic institutions) acknowledge, uplift, and support the service that advances our institutions, discipline, and society? Service awards are great, but are there better ways to routinely measure, document, and quantify service-related work similar to what we do for scholarship and teaching? In the latest PharmacyFika episode, we talk to Caroline Ko and Ila Saunders about their work to create and sustain the PharmGradWishList ... and why service work is vitally important.

Signed! It is essential in modern regulatory affairs that the culture of development moves towards a more proactionary approach that weighs risk of trying an untested new therapy against the risk of doing nothing. For patients who have severe incurable disease that will inevitably be life-ending or severely life-altering, it can be worth trying something radically new, even if the risk is high. The worst that can happen in such cases is often no worse than what would naturally transpire if nothing was done.
What if there was a new therapeutic that could save your life or the life of someone you love? Right to Try was a step in the right direction, but we need to do better. Sign the petition, share the link, and help us build a better future for everyone. https://lnkd.in/gGnbxyPg

🎉 The Cleveland School of Cannabis’ students marked yet another milestone in the journey of our on campus grow room and processing lab experiences. Yesterday students in our Extractions 101 class experienced the very first dry ice extraction demonstration using material cultivated with love in CSC’s grow room and harvested by their own hands last earlier this term! 🌱 The sense of accomplishment and excitement in the air was palpable as they witnessed the culmination of their hard work, dedication, and passion for the cannabis industry. From nurturing the plants with care to trimming the new harvest, this process has been a labor of love, and today's demonstration was a testament to the incredible growth and progress they've achieved! 🎓It's moments like these that reaffirm our commitment to providing the best cannabis education possible. Seeing our students gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience fills us with immense pride and joy. 🙌 Here's to a future of endless possibilities in the world of cannabis, and to the knowledge that together, we're shaping the industry for the better! #EducationBuildsNations #EducationMatters #CareerDevelopment #SchoolLife #HigherEducation #LearningOpportunities #FutureLeaders #CareerGoals #EducationSystem #StudentLife #SchoolCommunity #SkillsforSuccess #EducationalResources #SchoolPride #StudentSuccess #CareerGrowth #SchoolsOfThought #CannabisIndustry #CannabisEducation #CannabisCareers #CannabisCommunity #CannabisBusiness #CannabisJobs #EducateToElevate #CareerPathways #SchoolsOfThought #LearnGrowSucceed #EducationalTechnology #CareerExploration #CannabisEducationRevolution

I couldn’t just leave this as a comment… I had to share! Check out Jaron and is mission to help pharmacists have a seat at the table when it comes to our overall wellness! I have always believed pharmacists were the unsung hero’s of the healthcare continuum. One of my favorite things is how they feel more personable and accessible to people. Their wisdom and insight directly impacts the patients they serve. Consulting for doctors and senior living communities is huge. Bridging the gap from doctor to patient is needed. Advising on over medication and PGX (finding the right medications for the individual) Consulting with our government and Big Pharma. Educating the general population on best practices for medication administration and management… These are a few thoughts that came to mind! #seniorliving #pharmacy
On Thursday, I will be doing another episode of “Rebranding Pharmacy” on RPhAlly with Kevin Walker, PharmD. This week will be a very fun topic about expanding the role of the pharmacist. Now I have hundreds of ideas flying through my head on this, and I know I’m not the only one! But I’d love to hear the ideas of this other people, so we can discuss the best ideas on Thursday! Leave your thought and ideas!

To wrap up my video blog on GLP-1s, I’m summing up what we do best at Omada Health: support members’ choices for managing their health through data-empowered, human-led coaching. Learn more about our approach below.
You've heard our thoughts on the medical pros and cons of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Wegovy - but the last video in our series will inform you how Omada is incorporating the use of these medications into our programming. From maintaining our high standard of science-backed, clinically-proven behavior change programs, we'll continue doing what we've done all along - meet our members where they are with the right information at the right time. We'll support their in-between visit care and provide support and we do not plan to prescribe GLP-1s or any other medications to our members at this time. Learn more from our Chief Medical Officer Carolyn Bradner Jasik, MD: https://lnkd.in/duExkjfC

Oh my goodness, there will be 2000+ people attending the Stanford Medicine's REACH Lab (aka Halpern-Felsher REACH Lab) conference tomorrow and Thursday. As an eager speaker and attendee, I encourage anyone with adolescents, teens, or young adults in your life to join us. Given their brains develop until age 25, kids are at a *much* greater risk for harm from today’s high potency #THC. It’s not too late to join us! And by us, I mean the incredible list of #medical, #educational, #lawenforcement and #community leaders presenting.
