🚀 Just wrapped up an incredible conversation on the Messy Growth Show with Christian Godoy Jørgensen and Søren Skovdahl Hansen, where we dived deep into the untold chapters of my entrepreneurial journey with xtype.   Many people do not know this, but I grew up on a kibbutz. I was a farmer who was destined to make a name for myself in the tech space. In this interview, I share how it all began and how things fell into place that led me to build xtype and scale it to what it is now.   Fifteen years ago, I dreamt of building something meaningful. It was not an easy journey for me. Rejections are part of the game. This week has been the kind founders have to hold on to... the magical ones where the stars align and things move. I've rolled through the ups and downs, getting grittier by the day - pretty soon I'll be able to hire myself out for furniture refinishing 😉 But this past week, meetings and connections I've been working through getting since January, even August of last year, happened. Franchise meetings. City meetings. Speaker invites. Why did they happen? Because I post daily. Because I pour my heart and soul into my product and work tirelessly on it. Because I have a spectacular team. Because I say yes to helping others. All of this leads to people genuinely caring about me, and therefore, my company and mission - pigybak We have built a remarkable product that is truly different than what's in the market. And our vision - well that's the real treat. I couldn't be more proud and more confident in the people involved - just amazing human beings. Of course I'm going to post daily. I am so very honored to be a part of this journey and making entrepreneurship a bit less daunting for others. The biggest mistake I made in 2020... (well, one of them) Not building in public. Here's what I missed capturing and sharing on the journey of 5PM Beverages: - The typo on the can & my PURE PANIC. - The struggles of juggling life + business - The struggles of being a local brand - Partnerships & why they meant so much - The can design process (this was fun) - Winning global awards + my reactions  - Not winning awards + my reactions - The ups & downs of the R&D phase - The day in the life of a founder - Who I am as a person and - Why I started the brand The list goes on. The point is, there's so much value in sharing the journey. Sure, sharing the wins can seem a bit... 'Look at me' And sharing the losses can be scary... 1 year ago today we had a 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and it was devastating. € 𝟬,𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲. And I was asking myself all kinds of questions like: - Does the world need a better Instant Coffee? - Did we position the Stardust brand in the right way? - What can we do differently? - Have we already reached all our supporters? As a Founder I know self doubt very well. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽-𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. But today I have a different story to share: Yesterday we've hit the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁. And that excites me & motivates the team even more. We still need: new ideas. A better plan More sales! I remember telling someone when I started Seek & Swoon, that I didn't want to get into the promotional product business; that I didn't want to become the Lillian Vernon of blankets. But when sales declined in 2021, and requests for corporate branded blankets grew, I caved. Entrepreneurship is about test and learn, right? Since then I've completed dozens of corporate projects, from startups to multinational companies. This has put Seek & Swoon in the homes of thousands of people I would not have reached otherwise, demonstrating the quality, functionality, and coziness of a Seek & Swoon throw. It's been a good lesson for me in adapting and evolving and has allowed me to grow my brand and build relationships with a new clientele. Sometimes your vision needs to change, and that's ok.
