Meet Star Anise. An example of how beautiful nature can be with its distinct star-shape. They are the dried seed pods of the fruit of a Chinese evergreen tree and have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years to treat various ailments, including digestion, cold, and flu. In other cultures, they have been used to ward off evil spirits! They have a pungent, liquorice-like aroma and flavour with a subtle sweetness and are commonly used in broths, braising, baking and beverages, and is one of the spices in the Chinese spice blend known as five-spice. It’s journey from the forests of China and Vietnam, to becoming a valued ingredient in Europe, is just one classic story of the exchange of not just foods, but also novel culinary techniques, ideologies, and cross-cultural influences between the east and west along the infamous silk road and spice trading routes. Are you familiar with star anise and the other spices found in a five-spice blend? #spicetrade #culinarytraditions #foodandculture Shil

In the world of loose leaf tea, you'll frequently come across the term First Flush 🌿 First Flush refers to the first harvest of tea leaves in the growing season. This typically occurs in early spring. The term is commonly used in the context of premium tea varieties, such as Darjeeling tea🧡 First flush tea is highly prized for its delicate, fresh flavour, bright colour, and subtle aroma, as the young leaves and buds are tender and packed with nutrients. These teas are often more expensive due to their limited availability and the high quality of the leaves☕🌿 🌿Try our Darjeeling Maharani Hills, which is a First Flush tea: https://lnkd.in/ezmjQuiS

Just right! How long do you infuse a tea bag in hot water? Do you just dip it in a couple of times and then dispose of it? Or do you let it steep a while and let the flavours unfold? Do you like your tea black or with milk? Sweetened or not? Do you prefer tea bags or leaf tea? Long leaf, broken leaves or tea dust? Do you like it brewed with ginger, spices or mint...or without any additives? Whichever way you like your tea...or choose not to like it... it's ok... Remember, it's your choice and if it's just right for you, that's how you choose to enjoy it. We often change and modify ourselves, our likes and dislikes to fit into the expected norm at work and in our relationships. This is necessary when we need to align ourselves with the culture, vision and values of the organisation that we are a part of. In this process, it's good to remember your own vision and values so that you can bring your authentic self to your relationships each day. Remember, whatever you choose, it has to be 'just right' for you! #lifecoaching #purposecoach #emotionalintelligence #personaldevelopment #selfbelief #ccs #selfcare #kitcheninspiration #lifelessons #relationshipcoaching

Here is a new recipe for chilling during summer days. While the oven heats up the kitchen like a small furnace, I attempt to chill myself by sipping my cold herbal tea. I always use my fresh herbs to make tea, and lately, a chilled basil herbal tea (made with basil leaves and flowers) has been one of my favorites. I hate to waste the basil flowers, so I turned them into free-caffeine tea. Give it a try! INGREDIENTS - 4 tablespoons fresh basil leaves with flowers - 1/2 lemon, sliced - 1 liter water - 1 pinch of sea salt - 1 teaspoon honey (adjust to taste) INSTRUCTIONS 1/ In a jar, add the flowers and the leaves of the basil. 2/ Add the lemon slices, the water and a pinch of salt and honey. 3/ Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight allowing the flavors to meld. Note: Feel free to adjust the quantities of basil, lemon, honey, and salt according to your taste preferences. The pinch of salt not only reintegrates minerals but also enhances the overall taste of the tea. Enjoy this refreshing and revitalizing drink as a cooling and aromatic companion on warm days. #summer #tea

If milk gets bad, it becomes yoghurt. Yoghurt is more valuable than milk. If it gets even worse, it turns to cheese. Cheese is more valuable than both yoghurt and milk. And if grape juice turns sour, it transforms into wine, which is even more expensive than grape juice. You are not bad because you made mistakes. Mistakes are the experiences that make you more valuable as a person. Christopher Columbus made a navigational error that made him discover America. Alexander Fleming’s mistake led him to invent Penicillin. Don’t let your mistakes get you down. it is not practice that makes perfect. It is mistakes we learn from that makes perfect ! learn from your mistakes and move on.try again and again until you didn't achieve your goals. #photographychallengechallenge #fypシ #fypシ゚ #CMpunjabofficial #Deosai_National_Park #foryouシ #peace #viewers #TopNews #usareels #usa #america #everyone #canada #india #Pakistan

😬Strangest fruit in the world 🍎 Not all fruits will look as simple as a watermelon, or as elegant or beautiful as strawberry, sometimes they will have the strangest taste, other times they look like they come from another planet. 1. Rambutan 👽 These little hairy fruits definitely feel like they do not belong on our planet at all. With it bright red and sometime yellowish color, and those soft spikes growing outside it certainly does not look like any other fruits. Peel back the hairy exterior and you will see a white flesh that has a taste remind you of lychee or grape. 2. Durian 👀 If we are talking about the look then it is really nothing special since there is fruit that looks almost the same expect for the spiky parts. But when it comes to the smell then it is a whole different story, the scent of durian makes some people wonder why it is even a fruit. Its strong odor can either make you hate or love it meanwhile the taste is a combination of sweet and creamy. 3. Dragon fruit 🐉 It almost seems like the strangest fruits are usually those that have things that grow outside of their skin, and this is also the case for dragon fruit. Its vibrant pink color as well as long soft spikes make it looks unique and combined with the sweet white flesh with those little, tiny crunchy seeds will make you crave for more after one bite. 4. Salak (Snake Fruit) 🐍 Using a name of an animal for a fruit, well that definitely set it apart from other fruits, and by the name of it you may have imagined what it look like. Of course, it is not going to look like a snake with a long body but rather it is a fruit that has the exterior resembles snakeskin with brown color. Meanwhile the flesh has creamy white color, and the flavor is a mix of apple, pineapple and banana, Remember that what might be considered strange in one region is a cherished part of another. So, head over to NDFood to try out some of these “alien” fruit for yourself! Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured or fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to East Asia which probably originated in the borderlands of southwestern China and northern Myanmar. Tea is also made, but rarely, from the leaves of Camellia taliensis. After plain water, tea is the most widely consumed drink in the world. There are many different types of tea; some have a cooling, slightly bitter, and astringent flavour, while others have profiles that include sweet, nutty, floral, or grassy notes. Tea has a stimulating effect in humans, primarily due to its caffeine content.. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

Usually a rice is polished. Rice tastes better when the surface is polished. Rice before polishing is called brown rice. It's called genmai in japanese. Polished rice is called white rise. It's called hakumai in japanaese. Brown rise is very healthy. But its taste is not good. Mix about 20% of brown rice with white rice makes for a tasty and healthy rice. I like it.
