This is 100% legitimate, having witnessed the take-off and landing of the Joby Aviation S4 in the flesh... what does this mean practically for our communities, though? It means localized access to air transportation without noise pollution irritation AND without polluting our planet by proliferating nasty carbon emissions. The data is compelling, but the experience is breathtaking (as Kenji Sugahara and I are documented on video 😂 proclaiming). #aam#evtol#sustainableaviation
Quiet Skies For All — We know that the key to unlocking the skies above cities is to take a revolutionary approach to aircraft noise, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. During a typical cruise flight from JFK to Manhattan, we’ll barely be audible against the background environment of New York City.
The business of aviation in Montgomery continues to soar with new advancements and a strong community impact. Discover how the skies above MGM are shaping the city's future: https://lnkd.in/es-jWeD9
I appreciate the lower sound level. Sound pollution and light pollution are so important to address. Sound travels through walls and light keeps on going. Most Americans are constantly exposed to the sound levels of perpetual rainfall and don’t get to experience real quite which is necessary to connect with the world around us. Most Americans don’t get to experience real night time with light levels like constant moon light. Animals and plant sense the world differently from us and are effected by sound and light. Their life cycles depend on tuning in. And unlike other forms of pollution, sound and light can be addressed immediately by turning off the light or souce of sound.

Living near an airport often means dealing with noise from air traffic. However, the aviation industry is making strides with revolutionary technology that enables quieter flights. From enhancing the flying experience to fulfilling the desire to explore the world from above, aviation not only reduces travel time but is promising to minimizes noise. Yet, eventually increasing number of airborne vehicles raises concerns about visual pollution, especially as they fly at lower altitudes. Balancing the benefits of futuristic air travel with potential visual disruptions is a crucial consideration for the evolving landscape of transportation.

Flying was one of mankind’s first dreams. Since this dream was brought to the real world and air transport became one of the most sophisticated and organized modes of transport.

Three letter call signs or location codes are assigned to each airport and, contrary to frequent flyer lore, usually make sense. ATL, for example, is the Atlanta Intl. Airport (Hartsfield-Jackson) and JFK is the New York area John F. Kennedy airport. In some cases, you have to know the history of the area to understand [...]
