📢 "Statecraft produced positive results on academic honesty. This might seem obvious, but a plagiarism-resistant assignment can be an end to itself, or provide evidence to a student that he or she can do original work." Linantud, J., & Kaftan, J. (2018). Journal of Political Science Education. 🚫 Combat AI-Assisted Cheating in Political Science with Statecraft 🚫 Concerned about AI-assisted cheating? Statecraft’s simulation-based learning makes it difficult for students to misuse AI tools, saving valuable time and preventing extensive academic investigations. 🔍 Why Statecraft Stands Out: 💡 Interactive Simulations: Students engage in real-time decision-making, making AI-generated responses impractical. ⏱️ Efficient Use of Time: Our design inherently prevents AI misuse, allowing educators to focus on teaching. ❌ Avoiding the AI Detection Rabbit Hole: No need for constant updates and monitoring tools like Turnitin, GPTZero, and Proctorio. 🧠 Knowledge Application: Students apply their learning in real-world scenarios, ensuring genuine engagement and original work. 📈 Proven Effectiveness: Trusted by 450+ institutions globally, Statecraft enhances engagement and maintains academic integrity. #AcademicIntegrity #AI #EdTech #HigherEd #PoliticalScience #Statecraft #StudentEngagement #AIPlagiarism #InnovativeLearning

I am pleased to share that I am attending the 2024 Oxford Machine Learning Summer School OxML. As an online participant, I told myself that since I wasn't going to be present in Oxford, I would seize every opportunity to learn and better understand the Math intricacies of Machine learning (defined in the language of linear algebra). Our first expert from Cornell University was Prof. Volodymyr Kuleshov, who covered the mathematical foundations and implementation of linear regression, kernel methods, neural networks, etc.). His free materials can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/gnUHrJDd Second was Prof. Cho-jui-Hsieh, who also covered the fundamental concepts of Factorization Methods in Machine Learning. The key takeaway from his lecture was the profitable efficiency of low-rankness and model compression (Tiny ML) for efficient deep-learning applications. In my research, for example, Tiny ML models (e.g. Quantization) employed for network traffic classification can reduce memory costs up to 4 times although model parameters are not affected. Considering the enriching experiences I've had from day one already, I highly recommend making time and allocating resources to attend upcoming summer schools like this. The networking opportunities and fresh knowledge you'll gain are invaluable. #data #machinelearning #ml #dl #ai #inspiration #weekend #security #AI4GlobalGoals #OxML #OxML2024

We’re excited to share that Joost Jansen, a bright mind from our Academic Excellence Program (AXP), has successfully defended his Master’s thesis in Computer Science at Delft University of Technology. Joost’s research explored the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) supported by Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures in answering questions about a company’s sustainability performance. Through rigorous testing and optimization, Joost developed a RAG architecture that outperformed existing models. However, his research also highlighted the importance of human judgement in areas where AI falls short. This research underscores the value of AI as a tool to assist human analysts, rather than replace them. It’s a reminder that while AI can provide clear-cut claim verification, it still requires a “human in the loop” for questions that require judgement or context-specific answers. Congratulations Joost and all the best for the next chapter in your career! #AI #AssetManagement #Investing #LLM
