As the healthcare industry continues to evolve and enhance the digital patint experience, I find myself continuously reading articles from eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, Becker's Healthcare, and many more to stay abreast of the latest industry leaders. Strategic Health Care Marketing recently shared an article on how the Children's Hospital Colorado launched a campaign called, "Miraculous Everyday." The marketing campaign was launched to spotlight the hospital's innovative and compassionate style while providing personalized care for children. It's important to see that children's hospitals are unique and to ensure that their digital front door is one that addresses various audiences (kids, caregivers, etc.)-- this includes everything from content strategy to the design experience and elements. One of my personal favorite's is Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone. The site is whimsical, inviting, and the colors are light and playful. There are even dinosaurs, whales, with plenty of white space to not be overwhelming. #digitalhealth #childrenshospitals #healthcareinnovation

In a realm often inundated with online promotions and advertisements, the value of personal connections, fostered through community engagement, remains unsurpassed. As dental practitioners, your role extends beyond the confines of your clinic, venturing into the heart of the community where you have the opportunity to touch lives in meaningful ways. Participation in local health fairs is a golden opportunity to sow seeds of trust and camaraderie with the local populace. It allows you to demonstrate your expertise and dedication, not just through words but through actions that echo your commitment to the community’s wellbeing. Imagine the ripple effect of positive impressions created through personal interactions, hands-on demonstrations, and the sharing of valuable knowledge. Similarly, educational visits to schools serve as a powerful platform to foster a generation of health-conscious individuals. Through engaging and informative sessions, you can ignite curiosity and instill lifelong habits of dental hygiene in young minds. Picture the vibrant energy of a classroom where children are eager to learn from the expert in their midst, absorbing knowledge that will shape their approach to oral health for years to come. These outreach activities don't just resonate well with the community but also carve out a niche of goodwill and reputation for your practice. It portrays your venture as one deeply rooted in the community, keen on giving back and nurturing a healthier, happier populace. Thus, embracing community outreach is a step towards building a practice that stands as a beacon of knowledge, trust, and genuine care in the local landscape.

🗓️ TOMORROW, September 26, 4:30 p.m. ET 🗓️ Don't miss our next #SocialMedicine Rounds: "Anchor Models and the Future of Healthcare: Investing in Community Health and Wealth" Healthcare institutions can be major drivers of economic boon in their communities, yet these dollars do not always directly impact the communities these facilities serve. The anchor strategy is a place-based business approach that imbues wealth into communities via hiring, investing, purchasing and community engagement. One such example is the seminal Chicago anchor model, and September’s Social Medicine Rounds will explore how the anchor model approach was used in this neighborhood and ways it can be applied to other contexts such as the Bronx to address structural drivers of health inequities. Register here: https://buff.ly/3PlfkWH What are social medicine rounds? Our Social Medicine Rounds are an opportunity to connect our staff, faculty, trainees and community members to leaders who discuss the medical, economic and psychosocial issues impacting the health and wellness of our Bronx community.

Former University President | Women's Leadership Expert | Executive Coach | Global Strategist | Certified Board Advisor
Thank you to the Albany Medical Center System Board of Directors, on which I have served for the past 5 years, for dedicating our recent retreat to race and racism in healthcare. I appreciate Mr. Robert T. Cushing, Board Chair, and Dr. Janice White, Governance Committee Chair, for their leadership of this effort, and Dr. Dennis P. McKenna, President and CEO, and Ms. Christine Hayes, Senior Associate Counsel, for their support. In preparation for the retreat, my colleagues and I read Linda Villarosa's Under the Skin, The Hidden Toll of Racism on Health in America, a 2023 Pulitzer Prize Finalist (General Nonfiction), which offers an historical--and heartbreaking--analysis of racial disparities in American healthcare. In addition to discussing the book, we learned more about intersectionality, cultural humility, systemic racism, racial equity, and other topics in presentations, small group activities, and opportunities for individual reflection with the guidance of Tangible Development, LLC. As Linda Villarosa wrote in the conclusion to Under the Skin, "We can no longer look away from the impact of the racial health disparities that have been part of the American story since the beginning of our nation. This is not how a just society treats a segment of its population." I join my colleagues in a commitment to equity, and I Iook forward to the next Albany Med Health System retreat on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Capital Region of New York's only freestanding, regionally governed, not-for-profit health system, the Albany Med Health System includes Albany Medical Center; Albany Medical College, one of the nation's oldest medical schools; Visiting Nurses; Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, and Saratoga Hospital; and Albany Med Physicians Group of 500. Harnessing the collective expertise of each organization, the System has 1,520 hospital beds, more than 800 physicians, and 125 locations serving three million people in 25 counties. The System is among the region’s largest private-sector employers with more than 16,000 employees. #healthdisparities #healthequity #boarddevelopment #diversityequityinclusion

"By fostering communication, education, and personalized care, healthcare professionals can significantly improve patient adherence and retention, ultimately leading to better, safer healthcare journeys and outcomes." ... Dr. Michael Barr, MD, MBA, MACP, FRCP. Given all the #mentalhealth challenges facing our younger populations - seeking support from an already stressed and under-resourced behavioral health system - we need to continue to innovate on secure, effective, and consumer-centric approaches that extend their reach and increase engagement.
Check out our latest blog from Michael Barr, MD, MBA, MACP, FRCP where he reflects on the importance of clinics to extend their engagement and support 💛 to their patients between visits. https://lnkd.in/e4uHYfpn Currently we are working with several clinics that are offering the Prosper app (www.prosperselfcare.com) to their patients to extend the great services they provide. Prosper offers our partners a secure platform to drive continuity of care, education and empowerment, support and motivation, and building trust and loyalty. #mentalhealth #genz #healthcareinnovation #support NAMI Maryland Bowie State University findhelp Luminis Health Anne Arundel County Department of Health University of Maryland Global Campus

Moving away from familiar surroundings and adjusting to the demands of residency can be overwhelming, not only for the residents but also for their spouses and partners. To help, we've created a comprehensive toolkit for residency programs, providing essential information and resources designed to foster a sense of community and promote overall wellness throughout the residency journey. Supporting physician families is vital, especially since over 50% of physicians experience burnout—a challenge that strong family support can significantly mitigate. If you're in charge of residents, consider utilizing our free toolkit to learn how to better support your physicians and their families. By focusing on both, we can reduce burnout, enhance overall well-being, and strengthen community connections. https://lnkd.in/gb6-Ezqs
