Here is part II of my Q & A:
Q: What are you looking for at your next position? Do you expect an exact match of duties and compensation?
A: I am interested in making a difference and an impact while leading and mentoring others in an office-based environment. This could be in any field- such as Environmental Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, or other industries where an organized, self-disciplined manager is needed. I can handle many tasks and am comfortable as a manager, supervisor, or independent “team player”. I am an excellent communicator and have experience reporting to clients and corporate officers (District Mangers, Regional Managers, Vice Presidents, etc.) so supporting an executive would also be a good fit for me. As far as compensation is concerned- I do not expect an exact match and am open to discussing a benefits package that could be a mutually good fit. I am more interested in a good work/life balance so I can continue with my studies (4.0 GPA) as well as maintain my other outside-of-work obligations.
Q: Have you been terminated at any of your past jobs?
A: I have not been terminated at any of my previous jobs. At my most-recent position, I was informed that the account was closing. Since there were 30 days left on the contract, I remained on and supervised the crew to close out the account and transitioned critical operational experience to my successor. This happened at my other contract management position as well when I worked in higher education. At other jobs, I gave a minimum of 2-weeks’ notice. As a hiring manager who has been on the short end of receiving no notice from staff who quit, I realize just how important this is.
