According to the US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, [garbage collection] continues to rank in the top 10 deadliest jobs in the USA. Throwing #HouseholdHazardousWaste (HHW) in the trash is one of the dangers associated with the job, posing a constant #WorkplaceSafety risk to this essential #Californian workforce. To reduce potential risks associated with HHW, it’s imperative to handle, transport & store it correctly. Improper disposal of HHW can include pouring it down the drain, onto the ground, into storm sewers, or throwing it out with your regular household garbage. Though the dangers of such disposal methods aren’t immediately obvious, improper disposal of HHW can pollute the environment & pose a threat to #HumanHealth. Improper disposal can also contaminate our septic tanks & wastewater treatment systems if poured down drains or toilets, and, in addition to risking physical injury of our sanitation workers, improperly stored HHW poses a risk to children & pets. 🙏Help us protect our fellow #Californians & the environment from #toxic harm by educating yourself & spreading the word. https://lnkd.in/eNBJ6pR4 #NationalSafetyMonth #WorkplaceSafety #ToxicTrash #HazardousWaste #CleanUpCalifornia

https://lnkd.in/eZgdQcVy Precautionary boil water notices (which are the primary focus of this news item) tend to be localized and of short duration. Water main breaks of some level of severity warrant a short term precautionary response until bacteriological sample results can confirm that the sanitary protection measures taken during a service interruption/repair event were, in fact, successful. Many of these specific types of advisory notices are undertaken voluntarily by the water supplier and conform to the guidance of the professional standards of the American Water Works Association for the triage classification and appropriate level of response for a variety of service interruption events.

Creating Exterior Cleaning Solutions! Creating A Positive First Impressions For Customers! Waste Management Carts; Residential Trash Cleaning; Dumpsters, & Dumpster Pads; Pressure Washing; Fleets Washing; Window Cleaning
Maintaining clean dumpster pads is crucial for several reasons: 1.Preventing Pest Infestation: Unclean dumpster pads attract pests like rats, insects, and scavenger animals, which can become breeding grounds for disease. Regular cleaning removes potential food sources and nesting areas, deterring these pests. 2. Minimizing Environmental Contamination: Dumpsters often contain various types of waste, some of which can be hazardous. Proper cleaning prevents pollutants from seeping into the ground and water sources, protecting the local ecosystem. 3.Enhancing Health and Safety: Accumulated garbage and organic waste can lead to the growth of bacteria, mold, and other pathogens. Regular cleaning of dumpster pads helps eliminate these health hazards, creating a safer environment for everyone. 4. Promoting a Positive Image: The cleanliness of a business's surroundings significantly impacts its reputation. Well-maintained dumpster pads reflect a commitment to hygiene and professionalism, positively influencing customers' and employees' perceptions. 5. Compliance with Regulations: Many localities have regulations requiring the upkeep of dumpster pads. Regular cleaning ensures compliance with these laws, avoiding potential fines and legal issues. In summary, clean dumpster pads are essential for public health, environmental safety, and the positive image of a business or property. It's an investment in community well-being and operational excellence. #environmentalservices #facilities management #charlottenc #propertymanagement #charlotterestaurants #charlottebusiness #facilitymanager

"Through the Havelock North outbreak, the country learned hard and important lessons about the severe impact of contaminated drinking water, and, through the Inquiry, we learned how to strengthen the country’s drinking water system. However, the Government is unwisely, and currently largely unaccountably, dismantling gains made in the aftermath. As well as Brown, ministers with responsibility for these changes include the Minister for the Environment Penny Simmonds, Minister for Resource Management Reform Chris Bishop, and Minister for Agriculture Todd McClay, among others. It is critical these ministers, and other policymakers, take stock of the suite of changes proposed and ensure that they are not setting the stage for the next Havelock North-type disaster." https://lnkd.in/gi4eW7NT

Water, sanitation, and hygiene are critical components of our livelihoods. Litter on the other hand pollutes our environment and as we approach the rainy season, it can be washed away into water bodies there by contaminating them and affecting living organisms in the water. https://lnkd.in/dAz4ErnZ

SO, once again this week passed (2nd to 6th October 2023) I was called out to evaluate the quality of Rain, Borehole and Municipal Water Harvesting & Storage Systems for various client's that had installed these systems by their local service providers (Garden Service and Plumbers - NO Character Assassination intended)) with external "perceived compliant" filtration in terms of SANS241:2-2015 potable water standards. I was absolutely shocked at what we found. The level of E.Coli, Coliforms (fecal count) and water quality almost verging on the level of water not fit for human consumption (Vibrio- Cholera) was found. For those consumers living in Gauteng, this is A RED FLAG ALERT. There was not ONE system that was compliant in terms of SANS241:2-2015 for potable water use that was installed less than 6 months ago. Always ensure that your service provider gives you a compliance certificate for your rain, borehole and Municipal water storage and re-use for potable water. If they don't you are not compliant and you expose your family to some serious deadly micro-biological water contamination. Specifically, consumers in Gauteng Province, your local filtration, garden service or plumber needs to provide you with the appropriate compliance certificate if you are using stored water for ablution and general purpose into the home from your stored tank water. Contact david@reddrok.com for more information on water disinfection and sanitation for your home. Let me repeat to consumers once again, "YOUR STORED WATER IS NOT CLEAN UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD YOUR TANK VACUUMED, DISINFECTED AND SANITISED BY INTSTALLING A GERMICIDAL ULTRAVIOLET TANK LAMP. If you have not done this, please e-mail david@reddrok.com for guidance and advice on how to convert your stored water into potable clean drinking water that is compliant with water & sanitation SANS241:2-2015 potable water standards.
