Question to Hiring Managers in Sports and Business: If the mission of your team/company is to climb a tree, why do you consistently try to train horses instead of hiring squirrels? In my job search, this seems to be the case. Just curious.....

A former real estate agent just landed an AE role with a $180k OTE 🎉 She had plenty of sales experience but 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 in SaaS. Still, she increased her earning potential by $100k+ in a matter of months! Here's what she did to land her new role: (𝟭) 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 She sold real estate services — which also included access to valuable property management tech. So, in interviews, she emphasized how her sales pitch included demos. ↳ “𝘐 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴." (𝟮) 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 There were 2 instances where she was initially considered for a BDR role. By advocating for her extensive experience, she secured interviews for AE roles, too! (𝟯) 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 The hiring manager said this was 1 of the main reasons why she stood out. How you show up 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 matters! Designing an intentional life where I have 100% freedom of my time didn’t start last year when I retired from corporate sales. It began many years ago when I started my first sales job in 2006. Although I didn’t know exactly what the future would hold… I did know I wanted to be more in control of it. Getting into a career of sales helped me build a life of abundance and autonomy. And I’ll be forever grateful because of it! Now, I balance my time exploring new personal adventures while helping other sellers find their own abundance and complete autonomy.
