Milestones are worth acknowledging Yesterday my dear colleague Mads celebrated his first 5 years with Hays. First of all congratulations to Mads. Over the 5 years Mads has both developed his career at Hays as well as contributed to his colleagues’ sense of belonging and professional development. Mads’ motto is: always, all in, at all times. And going to work also got to be fun (see picture). What more can you wish for as his leader? Anyway. Mads’ 5 years anniversary got me to reflect on the critical tool of acknowledgement in leadership. As a leader, recognising your team members’ efforts and achievements can have a profound impact on motivation, job satisfaction, and overall performance. And recognition is not about money. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive, but has to be meant and to be authentic. Acknowledgement in it's true form can make a huge difference in the feeling of success and belonging and can be a huge motivating factor. American surveys has shown that up to 63% of recognised employees are very unlikely to seek a new job elsewhere. That, combined to our own "What Workers Want survey" stating that "50% of employees who expect to change job within the next two years are satisfied in their current role", just makes acknowledgement a prime parameter for employee retention. How do you work with acknowledgement in your company? #Haysspecialistrecruitment #EmployeeRecognition #Leadership #WorkplaceMotivation

This week we celebrated the 40th anniversary of The Gallagher Way. I was asked to share what tenet I connect with most and showcase how TA Champions The Gallagher Way – here is the tenet I chose and a bit about why: Which of the Gallagher Way Tenets do you resonate with most? #6 Teamwork. It’s so important to understand that no one is successful without everyone on the team. Such an important tenet, because it emphasizes the value of collaboration and unity in achieving common goals. The Gallagher Way has taught me the importance of valuing and respecting the contributions of every team member, and the power of working together towards a shared vision. It's truly inspiring to see how this tenet has shaped the culture of our organization and contributed to our success. Can you share a specific example or story from your experience that demonstrates how you embody or align with the tenet you selected? When I first started here, there was only 1 other person in the department. Over time, we have built out a Best-in-Class team, but it took a common purpose, collaboration, teamwork, and a drive to succeed. We all embody the shared value of teamwork by working together to achieve our goals, supporting each other through challenges, and celebrating our successes as a team. Our collaboration and common purpose have allowed us to build a strong, cohesive team that consistently delivers exceptional results. This dedication to working together and supporting each other is a true reflection of the Gallagher Way and has been instrumental in our department's success. #LifeAtGallagher #GallagherWay40thAnniversary #TAChampionsTheGallagherWay

*2023 LinkedIn Top Interviewing Voice* Global Career Management Strategist & Coach helping women get promoted, get paid and win the work-life balance war. #GetHired #GetPromoted, #GetPaid #StopSittingOnYourAsk
My favorite quote from the article "They’re going to seek an opportunity where there’s upward mobility at some other company.” They should and so should you. When my clients stay longer than they should any seat, I refer to this is "commitment issues." It isn't uncommon to do the work, wait for the recognition and believe compensation is coming. This is why you must, I repeat must have clarity during the initial promotion conversation which includes: criteria for getting promoted, the timeline based on your existing performance and of course pay. Company culture reflects who they are as well as who and what they value. My advice to you is make sure you know your value. #PowHerMoves #ContraryToCulture

Working together is more than just being part of a team. It means incorporating diverse perspectives and viewpoints to be more representative of our firms and more inclusive. It means creating a psychologically safe space so that less vocal professionals can speak up and committing ourselves to hearing them out. It means understanding that we all have similarities and differences and accepting both. And most importantly, especially in this day and age, it means finding common ground to be more productive and less siloed. Isolated we are vulnerable, single-minded, and alone. Together, we are diversified, but unified with a better route towards achieving our goals. #Together #kpmgproud #Kpmgus https://bit.ly/46cD1XA

We love sharing news about our Morgan team - especially those who have chosen long service commitments! Check out some of these colleagues below and learn more about what #ourpeoplemakethedifference!
We love to talk about our people, especially their loyalty and commitment to our Morgan family. At our Berkatal Germany the team recently celebrated the long service of fifteen people in our Morgan family, celebrating either 25 or 40 years of service each. In order to honour the four '40 years' and eleven '25 years' employees, the Works Council invited them to a celebratory dinner and used the opportunity to present them with long-service certificates to thank them. Thank you to all of the long-service people in our Morgan family for their dedication! #EmployeeEngagement #LongService #MorganFamily

2023 Automotive News Notable Champion of Diversity / 2019 HR Consultant of the Year Tampa / IICDP DEI Practitioner / Passionate about creating positive change in the automotive industry!
In May of 2020 after the murder of George Floyd I posted and talked about checking in with your Black & Brown employees. Because like many of us dealing with internal emotional struggles--our employees, friends, colleagues of color were coming to work pretending that they were ok. They weren't. As I read the news from Associated Press I'm feeling this desire to remind myself, my HR colleagues & fellow leaders--check in with your Jewish employees and coworkers. Check in with your Palestinian employees and coworkers. Chances are they are not ok. I've always prescribed an HR that is in the midst of employees every day. Especially now--visit your departments, stores, locations etc. Check in with people. Emotions are high, people are hurting and there is a LOT of misinformation floating around out there. Make sure your employees have the facts. Make sure you have the facts. Most importantly--check in with your people. If you don't know what to say--let them know you "see" them. "I see you". Three powerful words. Image-maker for senior-level executives and attorneys | Since 1989, I’ve helped thousands exude unique personas to wield influence.
Today is the perfect day to share the story of a woman who played a pivotal role in my professional journey. Early Challenges: In my early days as a sales associate, I encountered significant challenges. The competitive environment and minimal guidance left me struggling to meet sales goals. A Turning Point: Enter Betsy, my new manager. Her approach to leadership was unlike anything I had experienced. Initially placed on probation, I was skeptical. But, Betsy's support and mentorship marked a profound turning point in my career. Betsy's Influence: * Nurturing Strengths: Betsy focused on my abilities, teaching me to maximize my talents. * Respect and Teamwork: She treated me with great respect, fostering a sense of partnership and shared vision for success. * Joy in Work: Betsy instilled the importance of finding fun in our work, a principle that guides me to this day. Legacy of Mentorship: Betsy's mentorship extended beyond career success. She taught me the value of respecting natural abilities, creating a positive work environment, and sharing a vision of success. Her impact on my life is immeasurable. This took place 34 years ago. On this International Women's Day, I celebrate Betsy's enduring legacy of mentorship. How we treat one another can have lifelong consequences. Be more like Betsy! #IWD24
