👇 How to address location- or department-specific hiring needs on social media: Your employees are your greatest asset and can help you bridge the gap by promoting to their networks. Hiring for a specific location? Encourage those living in that area to post open jobs and employer brand content. This way, their regional networks can easily spot the opportunities. Are you hiring for a specific department? Have employees within that department share job and employer brand content. This will help extend the reach to their industry network. Depending on your available resources, consider creating tailored content, especially if you have high demand for positions in a specific location. For example, take a look at what Ulta Beauty did when opening a new distribution center in Greer, SC. Most early stage companies don't have the luxury of hiring a VP of Sales + VP of Mktg + CCO. The burn typically won't support that structure. The "EASY BUTTON" would seemingly be to hire a CCO, to run all commercial activities. One "C" level salary < two "VP" level salaries, right? But "EASY" does not always mean "BETTER". If you can find one person with intimate knowledge of Marketing & Sales, then the strategy outlined above works well. But not someone who spent their whole career in sales, and did a summer rotation as an Associate Product Manager in the Mktg dept....or vice versa. Rather, an individual who's has spent meaningful amounts of their career in both functions, with deep knowledge of each, and how they will together to impact the success of your product and company. These people are REALLY hard to find...the one's who got their "MBA in the business", as Ryan Blasko of The Mullings Group describes in the clip below. Also, they usually don't come cheap...(insert law of scarcity).
