Last week I shared a post written by fellow EOS Implementor, Dale Williams: EOS Implementer® Nugget: Tame the Bees in Your Head. Oh my SOUL does this describe me! Bees in my head… that’s how I think about my (unofficially diagnosed) ADHD. I’ve got so many ideas rolling around, sometimes in the middle of a single stream of thought. Ok… continually in the middle of a single stream of thought. Do you struggle with that as much as I do? Dale talks about compartmentalizing. This simple but powerful tool in my toolbox has helped so much! By compartmentalizing, I’m able to find the right places for all those thoughts buzzing around in my head that tend to distract me from the task (or conversation) at hand. When I neglect this tool, everything seems important and urgent, and I become overwhelmed. But when I remember what I’ve got in my toolbox and just pour all those buzzing bees out of my head, I get clarity and focus. Better yet, when I see entire leadership teams use this tool, together they get the clarity and focus they need to settle all the swirling issues and align around what’s truly important. #gamechanger Here it is again, in case you missed it. https://lnkd.in/exkGFXFU

Training our active duty, veteran and first responder communities in posttraumatic growth to thrive in the aftermath of trauma is the work Boulder Crest Foundation does every day. But the truth is, posttraumatic growth-PTG-is a concept that people in every community should know about. Struggle is part of the human experience. Yesterday, the #ChooseGrowth initiative was launched in league with a number of amazing partners. Yesterday, in the middle of a month focused on ptsd, diagnosis and diminishment, we started the effort to raise awareness that struggle is normal and trauma can be a catalyst to growth and opportunity. If you haven’t taken the 90 seconds to watch this video, please do. It is a powerful reminder that good things can happen after bad, and we all have the opportunity to choose growth. 🌟 What Did Your ADHD Diagnosis Journey Look Like? 🌟 Recently I have been thinking & reflecting on my own ADHD diagnosis journey because I am constantly hearing from others how difficult, long and complex the path can be. As a late-diagnosed ADHD Coach with ADHD - and also a millennial, I navigated years of misdiagnoses and misunderstandings before finally receiving the answers I needed and seeking my diagnosis - Thank you to my Brother in Law and the fantastically brave content creators in social media with out which I wouldn't have gotten the diagnosis, coaching, support and medication I needed! For many of us, the journey to an ADHD diagnosis is filled with challenges and a tonne of work to rediscover who you are! For me I had no idea who I was and what I liked! if someone asked my my favourite colour or what hobbies I had I would panic - because I genuinely didn't know! Looking back at 'Little Heidi' really helped me to reconnect to the hobbies and things I used to love - and gave me a starting point on my journey! Understanding that our ADHD means our brains work outside of the box and needs different strategies and hacks to help us thrive can mean we have been trying to complete one of those impossible puzzles - with tonnes of pieces, no reference picture and no idea where to start! This meant daily tasks and challenges were a complete mystery that we were always having to work extra hard to solve! As an ADHD Coach, I help late-diagnosed adults to understand how ADHD has uniquely impacted them! We investigate & search for clues to stitch together & solve your ADHD mystery! Building strategies and adding detective tools to our kit will help my clients to feel empowered and in control of their ADHD! You will go from fear to thrive and start dreaming big, setting goals and making plans for action! What did your ADHD diagnosis journey look like? If you want me to help you with yours, lets have a quick chat and a cuppa: 📲 Book a free Cuppa and Catch Up Zoom Call: https://lnkd.in/ey25xHrA #ADHD #ADHDDiagnosis #ADHDCoach #LateDiagnosis #MillennialsWithADHD #MentalHealth #ADHDSupport

🚗💨 ADHD and Working Memory: 1, Me: 0! This week, my ADHD won as I drove home with my fuel cap door wide open! 😅 If you’ve had those “oops” moments, you’re not alone! As a fellow ADHDer, I know how our memory can sometimes 'let us down' - our neurospicy brain's ability to hold on to, recall and act on information over short periods of time is often a bit of a challenge. It means we can seem forgetful and have difficulty staying organised, or remember those little tasks like closing your fuel cap door before driving home! Here’s how ADHD affects working memory: Short-Term Memory Challenges: Many ADHDers often struggle to remember instructions, follow conversations, or keep track of tasks. Tasks Management: Keeping multiple tasks or the step by step plan in our mind isn't something that always sticks! This can be overwhelming, and leading to unfinished tasks or mistakes because we haven't managed to remember - and follow the plan! Difficulty Prioritising: Sorting and recalling all the information can be tough, and therefore prioritising is more difficult as we don't have all the info to complete a task! As an ADHD Coach, I can help you understand and hack your ADHD and create a way of making your working memory work better for you! Let’s work together to turn those "oops" moments into opportunities for growth because - You've Got This!! 💪✨ If you want to have a quick chat to find out more 📲 - click here: https://lnkd.in/ey25xHrA #ADHD #ADHDLife #WorkingMemory #ADHDAwareness #ADHDSupport #ADHDCoach #neurostitch
