The Department of Labor rescinded a Trump-era rule that would have expanded the use of Association Health Plans. Here's the breakdown: Association Health Plans (AHPs) were supposed to offer health benefits to businesses, but some tried to use them to dodge consumer safeguards. In 2018, a rule loosened requirements for AHPs, potentially putting protections at risk. But this week, the DOL reversed that rule, ensuring AHPs meet stricter standards and can't be used to bypass consumer protections. Learn more: https://hubs.ly/Q02vKjsY0

Wow. Kaiser Permanente ranks #1 among commercial members once again in California, Northwest, Maryland and Virginia. But for me the most striking paragraph is the below, how much further into the lead the #value-based care, physician-led, evidence-based, patient-outcomes driven #racehorse is pulling. We need to change how healthcare is practiced in across our country so everyone can lead to patient satisfaction like ours. "Large gap emerges between top- and bottom-ranked health plans: Overall satisfaction with commercial health plans is 565, up 3 points from 2023. Beneath that improvement, however, a 79-point gap in customer satisfaction has emerged between top- and bottom-ranked health plans. While the highest-performing plans in the study see their overall satisfaction scores rise 20 points this year, those for the lowest-scoring performers have declined 8 points."

The evaluation of health outcomes for members and retirees by CALPERS is a significant challenge. Ensuring fair assessment of improved health outcomes and providing constructive feedback to participating health plans is crucial for the success of this innovative concept. Without transparent evaluation mechanisms, the initiative risks being perceived as merely a cost-cutting strategy. #healthtransformation #healthinnovation #CALPERS #carecoordination #improvedhealthoutcomes #populationhealthmanagement #retirees
