Tanzania insurance market has shown steady growth over the years, yet there remains a room for increased penetration. While the industry has made some progress to increase its offerings and reaching more customers, more effort is required to raise awareness of importance of insurance. Building an insurance agency requires more than just showing up to work as mentioned by Bruce Williams. It demands a structured schedule, a block schedule if you will. Imagine having 2 groups, each with over 10 people. You start your day early, say 6 AM, because your East Coast clients are already up and about. Can you sell two policies by 1 PM? Then, you take a well-deserved lunch break. Post-lunch, from 2-6 or 7, your goal is to recruit 2 people to your team. By the end of the day, you've sold two policies and recruited two team members. This week, Pie Insurance released its latest small business survey, which outlined some of the more unusual workplace claims businesses have faced, as well as their attitudes to workplace safety. As many as 50% of small business owners said they have made a workplace injury claim in the past five years, according to the survey. And while most experienced common injuries like slips, falls and cuts, accidents come in all shapes and sizes.
