Happy Monday!! On Linkedin, shorter is ALWAYS better and I apologize for the length here, but I would truly appreciate a read..... I generally post about Industrial real estate. Since October 7th, 2023, I have been posting a bit about Israel as well. I've tried to balance on this platform so as not to be too personal in this place of work. Today is Yom Ha'zikaron, an annual day of remembrance and honor for Israel's fallen soldiers. This year in particular, as you might imagine, it's a time flooded with mixed emotions, so I felt compelled to share. I've noticed in these past few months that my real estate posts are liked and shared by ALL of my contacts, no matter race, nationality, religion or political leanings. On the contrary, every time I post about Israel, maybe 1-2% of the engagement is from non-Jewish colleagues. (Thank you. You know who you are.) The contrast is so stark and obvious that it is most definitely not a coincidence. To be clear, that's very ok. No anger, frustration, or even bother, consumes me regarding the contrast. I understand not wanting to engage at all in political talk on Linkedin. I really do understand that. However, I read something the other day from Mitch Albom that I wanted to share, specifically with my non-Jewish friends and colleagues. He explains so poignantly, what Israel means to the Jewish people. (I will attach the link in the comments) We don't stand with Israel. We ARE Israel. May God protect Israel and its people..... Me, us, your debt broker, the seller, the buyer, the land cowboy... May God protect us all.
