I had an opportunity this summer to witness the care and compassion at Maple Heights Behavioral Health Hospital I only wish every community could have access to this level of care. Because when someone you love is going through a clinical mental health crisis. You can't afford to wait a month or more for help. It's no wonder surrounding communities are referring more and more people to this incredible place. And last week they opened their Adolescent Unit... Which means that even more young people can get the help they need.... Before it's too late. _______________ Does your community have a dedicated Behavioral Health Hospital? Or do you even know where your closest one might be? I know you're probably thinking.... My kids are fine and I'll never need those services. Do you know how many parents send me DM's every week? Telling me they thought their kids were fine. And are shocked by what they just found on their phone. Good kids have secrets too and can hide so much on that device. If you really want to check on their mental health and how they're really doing. Then check their phone today. If they put up a fight.... Then there's your answer. _______________ Our kids are struggling and we are losing them daily. Don't let fear keep you from asking the tough question. Would you rather have your kid mad at you for a little while? Or gone forever? Here....I will give you the words to say. "Have you ever thought about suicide?" There's also a one hour course you can take online called "QPR." Question, Persuade and Refer can help you prepare for that conversation. I'll even drop the link below so you can check it out. Because ignorance is not bliss when it comes to keeping your kids safe. Trust me....I know. https://lnkd.in/d84kdcf6 #StopYouthSuicideNow #MapleHeightsBehavioralHealth #AskTheQuestion #SeizeTheAwkward #QPRWorks #TalkToYourKids #SafeTechnology #Gabb

Breaking the silence, challenging stigma, and supporting one another is crucial. Let's foster an environment where men feel comfortable seeking help and discussing their mental health. 💙 Together, we can make a difference. #MensMentalHealth #BreakTheSilence #LetsTalkNumbers

🌟 Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, I stand with young minds everywhere, as we strive for a world where youth are mentally healthy, not in distress. 🧠💪 For everyone with a young person in their life, let's remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. It's not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of strength. 🌈 Let’s encourage open conversations, support communities of belonging and champion fixes to our healthcare system so that it ensures young people can access the support they need. We also need to work towards ensuring that all communities of youth, including those who have been systematically left out of the mental conversations to date, are brought into the mental health progress that we all want to see. At Jack.org, we believe in the incredible potential of young people to create change. Together, on this important day, let's renew our commitment to a brighter, more inclusive future for mental health. Let's break the silence and build a world where #YouthMentalHealth is a priority. 🌍💙 #Jackdotorg #MentalHealthMatters #EmpowerYouth

Misconceptions surrounding suicide can be a huge barrier to understanding and support. It's crucial that we challenge these misconceptions, not only to promote empathy but also to save lives. It shows that we care, we're not judging, that we're willing to listen, and that we're here to help. To make a real impact, we must continue learning about mental health and suicide. Education and training are essential components in equipping ourselves with the knowledge and skills needed to support those in need. Often times people who have mental health challenges struggle in silence. Because talking about it can be scary. When you are a youth, it can be extra scary. You might feel like something is wrong with you. And that if you say anything people won't understand. Or that they will call you crazy. Stigma around mental health challenges, often makes getting help very hard and interferes with people seeking help immediately after symptoms start. This is an issue because the sooner you get help, the more impactful treatment is. That is why preventative programs are so important. Preventative programs, like the Trusted Adult Program, give youth the skills and knowledge now AND identifies youth that need help more immediately.
