Our Greater Manchester region set up stall on Saturday at their first Pride of the summer season - Salford Pink Picnic. ☀️
It was such a beautiful day to be able to talk to people about the work we're doing as an organisation to make the industry a more inclusive space for everyone.
❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
If you missed your chance to get a selfie with a hard hat, the Greater Manchester region will be at Sparkle Weekend in July, and based in the city centre (location TBC) for their annual outreach day with the rainbow JCB on Friday 23rd August.
There are small things you can do organizationally that make ALL the difference at an event.
Saturday I hosted and DJd for the 2023 Dreams Come True of Jacksonville 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run.
At the start of the 5k we asked the runners / walkers / rollers to line up with the most competitive at the front and those who would take their time at the back (the party people I call them).
It takes a few extra minutes but…
This saves traffic jams and frustration.
If the competitive runners were at the back they’d be weaving in and out of the walkers and rollers.
The walkers and rollers would be mad bc people would be running close to them and their kids.
At your event - these small things may take a few extra minutes but are worth it.

🔥 Unveiling the Power of People: Why Culture Trumps Remote Work 🚀
At Leegra, we're not just in business; we're in the business of people! As an advocate for remote work, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible cohesion within our team. But let me tell you, a company's culture can't be built remotely. Seeing our people thrive and connect during our year-end function was an eye-opener!
🌟 CULTURE BEYOND THE NORM 🌟
Imagine this: I recently stumbled upon a team from a major SA bank at a team-building event. One of them praised the event, but then dropped a bombshell: "I still hate XXX bank." Shocking, right?
Your company might throw lavish events or employ various tactics, but without genuine intentions, it's all just an expensive party. That's where the Leegra difference shines through.
🌈 THE LEEGRA DIFFERENCE 🌈
Our leadership at Leegra has excelled in nurturing our foundational values of acknowledging people for who they are. In over 20 years, we've fostered a culture that sets us apart. How?
- We know every team member by name.
- Each person is valued for their individuality while being an integral part of the team.
- We empower and trust our people.
- Aligning company and individual goals is crucial for a successful relationship.
- Toxic environments have no place—we believe in thriving, not merely surviving.
Ready to elevate your #brand? Our dedicated team is geared up to ignite your brand's fire and reconnect you with your customers. Let's make magic happen together! 🔥✨
Again, well done to our leadership team and all those involved in making this day a reality. Gordon, Jono
The wheels on the bus go round and round!
And our year end celebration this year was no different. This year we went into Summer with our Summer Vibes Party Bus Bash! There’s nothing quite like a party on four wheels (or however many wheels buses have). Mix that in with our awesome Leegra leadership and admin teams and you have a recipe for fun, good vibes, and great stories. We mixed, mingled, and had some summer fun on the move.
All of this is made possible by the hard work, dedication, and innovation demonstrated by our team – keeping us busy and vibing despite an immensely challenging year. We are here because of all of you. So, in the spirit of the party bus, relax, take it easy, and enjoy the spoils of a tough year.
Cheers!

We're starting the week with some BIG news: we're thrilled to announce that we'll be expanding in our hometown of Newcastle - howay the lads! 🎉
Following the immense success of our original Lane7 venue in the city, which opened in 2013, we're set to open not ONE, BUT TWO exciting new locations by the end of the year.
Newcastle holds a special place in our heart as the city where we revolutionised the bowling market. Since opening our doors 11 years ago, we've earned a reputation as the ultimate destination for all of your best nights out in one.
We're going to be opening a second venue at the Gate in the summer, as well as a brand new concept in the autumn; this venue will have a unique proposition that will be first not just for Newcastle, but for the UK.
"Newcastle has always been our home, and we couldn't be more excited to continue our journey here," says our Founder, Tim Wilks.

FivePoint introduced the first of what is now eight communities in Great Park Neighborhoods 10 years ago with the promise that “life will be different here.”
It’s more than just a slogan. It’s a goal and daily challenge to create a place with distinctive style and personality. One that’s lively and imaginative, with a few surprises and delights along the way.
Beyond the creation of new streets and structures, residents and visitors tell us they feel a strong sense of community, opportunity and connection at GPN... something different than what they once knew before.
As FivePoint continues to invite the community to celebrate GPN’s 10th anniversary, it’s been fun to find collaborators who share that vision and have an interest in creating a uniquely DIFFERENT kind of experience -- both for Great Park Neighborhoods residents and the surrounding community.
In the spirit of a modern-day speakeasy, the Irvine location of Left Coast Brewing Co. (located a stone's throw from GPN) has introduced a special “life will be different here” blonde ale this month into its collection of craft brews.
If you know to ask for it and tell them Great Park Neighborhoods sent you, you’ll get a free collectible 10th anniversary pint glass. And food/drink discounts (shh… it’ll be our secret). But for those who don't know to ask for it, we're hearing the name is piquing curiosity, inspiring taste tests, and creating conversation.
So... please stop by to raise a glass and say CHEERS TO 10 YEARS… and celebrate the beauty that comes with being different. Details: https://lnkd.in/g2NzC5rR
I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the amazing sponsor, #Commsworld, for their support.
I couldn't be prouder of this young team and all they've accomplished this season! Watching these young footballers grow and excel on the field has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Coaching them provides a wonderful escape from the daily grind of life and work, and it's a joy I cherish.
Interestingly, coaching football has many similarities that apply directly to my professional life. Here are a few:
#Teamwork Success in football, as in business, relies on effective teamwork. Coaching has reinforced the importance of collaboration, communication, and working towards a shared goal.
#Builing Positivity: Whether on the field or in the office, frosting a positive environment is crucial. Encouragement and support help’s build confidence and drives success.
#Grit & Determination: The resilience and determination these young players show is truly inspiring. Their ability to persevere through challenges reminds me that with grit, we can overcome any obstacle, both in sports and in our careers.
Coaching these amazing kids has been a source of great joy and inspiration. Here’s to many more victories on and off the field! ⚽️🙌

For anyone who hasn’t been to a #Sterling BIG Breakfast or BIG Brunch, you’re probably wondering just WHY so many people love it….so I thought I’d explain, having attended my first one in Worcester in the spring….
Firstly, the only differences between the BIG breakfast and the BIG brunch are the times they are held and the anticipated number of participants (breakfast 6.45am with 100+ people whereas brunch is at 10.15am with 50+)
Other than that, the format is the same.
Food, chatter, hearing from the sponsors and of course, the reason we all network (other than the occasional poached egg, mmmm) – time to make some connections with facilitated networking.
During the two hours of breakfast/brunch, not only do you get to network with your original table (led by a table captain who makes sure everyone gets their chance to speak), everyone will move table – at least a few times – meaning you get to network with a WHOLE NEW selection of businesses.
As well as the general “meandering about/free style” networking at the expo itself, the BIG breakfast and brunch give you the opportunity to be guided by the Sterling team – and before you know it, at LEAST 29 other people in the room know you, your business, what you do and how they can help you…
The BIG breakfast and BIG brunch are filling up fast at Sterling’s Birmingham event on 26th October at Edgbaston Stadium – the last time I checked with Jenni and Rosemary at HQ, there were 80+ bookings and I know there will have been more since.
For just £19.99 plus VAT it’s amazing value for what is an exceptional networking opportunity. If you haven’t been before, give it a try – I can guarantee you won’t prove me wrong. Ask anyone...I'm always right, its a known fact 😜
p.s. for anyone wondering, the video is "moving time" - the moment everyone has been given their next table number and has to find where they are sitting next. It's great fun and truly the definitely of EXCEPTIONALLY ORGANISED chaos.
