In 2018, we started producing Community Profiles for all 171 school districts in Kentucky. The objective was, and still is, to get key data into the hands of community members as a way to encourage them to be part of the solution to improving education outcomes. With data, communities could be part of designing solutions to the unique needs of families and students locally. This week we released the 4th edition - now called Groundswell Community Profiles. They include data along the "path to a larger life", coupled with trend data and a snapshot of demographic differences, and socioeconomic information to contextualize the environment. It's a brief 4-page snapshot. The Groundswell Community Profiles are meant to be used as a starting point to spur larger conversations and action. When we bring communities to the table, in hyper-local settings, with shared aspirations, innovative solutions will be found. Following several months of community engagement, research, meetings with local leaders and more, the final plan has been revealed! 2nd attempt to post. Though at DEA they are not so proud to highlight their shortcomings that they have no issue hiding from taxpayers. They removed my previous posts which simply expresses DEA's willingness to hide their incompetence and disabled comments on the appropriate post. If this firm put out the truth and numbers of how many things they had to redo on this Highway 20 Safety Upgrade between Corvallis and Albany OR taxpayers would have something to say about this firm’s laughable ranking. How about it DEA, put out an itemized list of everything that had to be done two or three times because it wasn’t done right in the first place and how much taxpayers money was wasted in the process. In my driveway alone they had to do multiple things more than once. No wonder ODOT never comes in on budget with incompetence like this! Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for this! DEA was contracted for at least the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, the worst one, up 239% from original estimate. https://lnkd.in/epv6uESx

And we're OPEN! After 2 years, 2 months and 22 days of being closed, our doors are finally open once again. We've made a lot of new friends while we've been closed, running activities and workshops in schools, libraries and community events across the city, but it's just wonderful to have our building back. As “impossible” as it sounds, the +MPU movement is real. Thirty strangers from vastly different backgrounds convened in Montana for our annual Fellowship. They built mutual respect for each other — all for the betterment of our shared communities. 🌠🤝 “The training here is really answering the questions that I had,” San Antonio Brickyard Captain Alice Garcia says. “It’s making me feel confident that I can do this.” In a special guest fireside chat, an unlikely duo showed us that friendship can exist despite differing political beliefs. We were honored to host actor/activist Sean Penn and former National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien. We are here to strengthen our communities and empower our Fellows and Brickyard leaders to immediately make a positive impact when they return home. Yet we also know when to laugh and share a drink!
