What's the strategy behind Buc-ee's cult following and runaway success? It’s Not Just About Beaver Nuggets. On a recent road trip to St. Augustine, my family and I decided to make a pit stop to check what the hype was all about... and it did not disappoint. The property sits on 53,000 acres of land, and the inside of the store is the size of a Publix. There’s an entire counter dedicated to fudge. And another whole counter dedicated to beef jerky. The bathrooms are so clean that you could eat off the floors... say what?!? The entire experience was pleasantly overwhelming. When I read more about Buc-ee’s, I noticed that it's success ultimately stems from a clearly defined strategy: Provide an unmatched gas station experience through efficiency, scale, and charm. It’s a case study that any business can learn from, no matter what you sell. If you build a remarkable customer experience backed by strategy and innovation, growth can scale faster than you ever imagined. If you found this insightful, give it a thumbs up and follow me as I share my insights and learnings around the topics of business agility, leadership, and change management. 😎 #businessagility #leadership

As James Watt stepped down from his role as CEO of BrewDog and into a Non-Executive Director role, I was asked by The Scotsman for my thoughts on the company’s leadership transition. Too many companies leave succession planning until it’s too late. However, by giving an internal candidate, in this case, new CEO, James Arrow, the chance to develop over the years and use all the knowledge he’s gathered, Brewdog is in a position to navigate this transition better than most. You can read my Op Ed below – let me know what you think! https://lnkd.in/eNuYv6ys #ceosuccession #executivesearch #strategicplanning
