I am very honored and excited to have joined the SCI Board of Trustees, as of yesterday. I greatly appreciate the invitation to do so. SCI is an amazing organization that I have worked with for thirty years, as they have carried out their mission in support of seafarers. I wish to join others in thanking Bruce Paulsen for his outstanding leadership of the Board of Trustees through some extremely challenging times over the past six years, and I also wish the very best for Mark Knoy as he succeeds Bruce in this role. I look forward to working closely with Mark, my fellow Trustees, and Rev. Nestlehutt and his outstanding staff as this important work of SCI continues!
This week, SCI's Board of Trustees gathered at the International Seafarers' Center in Newark for their first meeting of 2024, with a notable agenda item being the transition in board leadership. As we welcomed Mark Knoy retired former President and CEO of American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) (right), to the Chair position, we expressed our heartfelt appreciation to Bruce Paulsen, Esq., of Seward & Kissel LLP (center), who, over the past six years, guided our organization to a position of resilience and strength through the pandemic and other significant challenges. Bruce, your dedication to SCI and our mission is greatly appreciated. In this photo, they are joined by the Rev. Mark Nestlehutt, SCI President & Executive Director (left). #maritime #seamenschurch #formariners #forseafarers

4moDelighted to see this Bud and very symbolic in demonstrating MSC’s commitment to seafarers who far too often are forgotten by those who depend on them. I am very proud for having served for nearly 20 years on the board of this great institution.
