Brands spend more time on software than they do on their business. Let me explain… The first thing most brands do when trying to address pain points and concerns is go software shopping. Example #1 - How do I decrease churn and increase retention? Answer: “Let’s see what software is out there” Example #2 - How can I increase email/SMS revenue from my VIP customers? Answer: “Hmmm there’s got to be some software out there for that” Software will never fix fundamentally broken systems. Software will never fix a sh*t product. Software will never fix a poor customer experience. There are so many things brands need to address first before adding another app to their tech stack. It’s so easy to get caught up in the software game. When a new iPhone comes out, you don’t need to buy it, but you want to buy it. New shiny things will always be attractive to brand owners and operators. “Everyone on X and LinkedIn swear by it!!! They said it’s going to double this and triple that!” However, you must focus on running and optimizing your own business. Software cannot fix what is broken, only you can! Anyways, that’s all I have for today, I’m still slightly hungover from 4th of July Weekend. P.S. Episode 6 of the ASOM Pod drops this Thursday at 12:00 Noon EST 👀 Jimmy Kim John Roman Amer G.

Strategy not software. Software can’t fix broken strategy or a shit product

I am pretty sure, right now someone’s writing a post about a software to help you transform your product from shitty to great

Pulling straight from my list of complaints! Case in point - subscription software doesn't make it easier to acquire subscribers. You need a better offer for that!

What workforce software should I buy? NONE. You have no processes, no plan, and no idea of what workforce is for your customer service center. Software is a hot button for me......how much time will I save with my new CRM for customer service? None for the first 6 months -- you will increase it. Hair of the dog does not apply to software only to you today Bryan. (Small humor).

Well said! Can't agree more, however with a great strategy/process in place, software can sometime do wonders, not always.. for example, speaking from experience, if a company has its guidelines well defined, AI for customer service can truly elevate the customer experience and make the brand stand out!

Couldn't agree more, Bryan. Working on core business issues will always impact more than any software. Btw, how was the 4th of July celebration? Alex Belov

Software can help “streamline.” Software will not “solve.”
