"Your ability to learn and learn quickly” will be key to your success – and not just as a consultant, this probably fits into the "everyone" category. During some amazing hands-on training yesterday, our group had to put that quote into motion with some great partners and new friends at the Greenville, SC EY office.     Here are some high-level pro tips to enhance your inner consultant: ✅ Seek understanding ✅ Be data driven ✅ Practice innovative problem-solving ✅ Prioritize trust and relationships ✅ 100% delivery on your promises – 99% is a fail Side note, if you don’t know EY’s tag line, I love it – “to build a better working world”.   Huge thank you to Bradley Shepard and Les Knight for bringing that tag line to life yesterday with our summer innovation boot camp students. Marshall Franklin – everyone also really appreciated your words of wisdom and encouragement as well.   Next up? Diving into our own mini consulting projects with local ventures…stay tuned!   Let’s keep building. Bryan Davis, continuous learning is very important, especially as the pace of change continues to accelerate. Before the ability to learn comes into play, an important factor is a person's mindset. A good way to think about it is a growth versus a fixed mindset. A person with a fixed mindset believes that their abilities are innate and cannot be changed. In other words, a person who believes I am what I am and I cannot change. A person with a growth mindset believes that their abilities can be developed over time and will put in the time and effort to do so. A growth mindset leads us to learning continuously which is vital in today's world. Congratulations on another successful innovation boot camp.

+1 on data-driven just by virtue of my work. +1 on seeking understanding, as I teach my students and practice in my own consulting work. I *always* become at least somewhat knowledgeable about the client domain so that we can communicate effectively and I can craft data products that are useful to them. They don't hire consultants to then have to teach those consultants about their work. It's on us to actively learn it.

Thank you, Bryan. It was a lot of fun sharing these consulting concepts and tools with such an enthusiastic and attentive group of Furman students. I enjoyed working with you on this and allowing EY to participate in this great Summer Boot Camp program. Hats off to Brad Shepard, Marshall Franklin and Jessica Donan for their support and content preparation and presentation. Bryan, you and the Hill Institute staff continue to amaze me with the impact your efforts are making with Furman students and the community. I'm grateful to be a supporter.
