We are excited to announce our newest attorney Alison S. to our EB Team. In 2023, Alison graduated from Campbell University School of Law. During her law school career, she had the privilege of working in numerous roles. It was through those experiences that Alison developed a passion for pursuing justice. Alison brings a creative and enthusiastic approach to all that she does. Alison, we are so excited that you are part of our growing EB Team! #WeAreEB!

This Spring, Bryan Boyd is again teaching Advanced Criminal Law Seminar: The Wire at Campbell Law School. The course covers the legal and policy issues raised in the critically acclaimed HBO series called “The Wire.” Bryan taught full-time at Campbell Law School for 16 years before becoming the Clerk of the North Carolina Supreme Court and then embarking on a litigation practice. He continues to educate students through this very popular and engaging Spring Semester course. #WeAreEB!

Cate Edwards (for Employment Law), Kristen L. Beightol (Hall of Fame for Litigation) and Bryan Boyd (for Litigation) have been elected 2024 Business North Carolina Legal Elites. Legal Elites are selected by ballots made available to all active North Carolina lawyers, who are asked to choose the best lawyers in each practice area. Only four percent of the thousands of attorneys practicing in North Carolina were selected. #WeAreEB!

Edwards Beightol, LLC, has been named to the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly inaugural Empowering Women list. The list is designed to showcase tangible and innovative efforts by law firms to advance women attorneys in the workplace and community. Firms on the list have a record of recruiting, hiring, mentoring and promoting women, working toward a systemic system change in society to combat inequality and contribution to the cause of women through outside philanthropic or community endeavors. We are proud to be on this list. #WeAreEB! 

It’s Day One for me at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m excited to join the Dean of Students Office as the new Associate Dean. I’m delighted to do what I love best; meaningful early intervention work and meeting basic needs of students. I’m also excited to support the military and veterans community at UNC. I’m grateful to the search committee and the DoS staff for their invitation to share in this work. Let’s go Heels! (…and Go Wolfpack, because old habits die hard!)

North Carolina State University will always have a special place in my ♥️. I’m so grateful for five years in Prevention Services. I’ve had the privilege and honor of working with so many amazing colleagues and campus partners. My heart is full from the deep and enriching work with so many students. Special mention to Tina Nelson-Moss, DSW, LCSW, CCTP, CTM, the search committee chair, who helped bring me into the Wolfpack community. My deepest gratitude is for Angel Bowers. She has taught me so much, encouraged me and walked beside me in some tough times. Thank you for everything, Wolfpack!! I’m on to my next adventure. 🫶🏼
