IBM Quantum System Two is the next stage in quantum systems evolution, building on the achievements of the first-of-its-kind IBM Quantum System One. The world's first modular utility-scale quantum computer system. Quantum System Two was designed to tackle complex problems that lie far beyond the reach of today's classical supercomputers. It stands 15 feet tall and operates in a near perfect vacuum at temperatures colder than deep space. IBM's Research and Design Departments, together with Map Project Office and Universal Design Studio guided Goppion Technology in the task of engineering and fabricating the multiple award winning enclosure of Quantum System Two, defined by different layers and finishes that serve different but crucial roles: From the sound absorbing cabinetry clad with several different custom anodized and laminated aluminum coils, to 70/30 dielectric semireflecting glass all the way up to the fully mechanically integrated light attic, engineered to provide the correct lighting in any situation while still providing full access for maintenance. As part of the collaboration between IBM and Goppion which started in 2016, QS2 represents a milestone for technology and design and a testament to teamwork from it's very conception to the installation of it's finer outer detailing. Thanks to IBM's team for the continued trust and most of all friendship. ph credits: Christopher Tirrell for IBM, Chris Lirakis (Thank you for the picture and the increbile journey) More info about this project here: https://lnkd.in/dr9TeNSZ
I like these “space age” advancements and ecosystems which will eventually trickle downstream, no doubt Goppion are at the forefront
Other than efficient, the project is extremely beautiful.
😳👍🍀
