Contingent recruitment panels/PSAs don’t work, in my opinion. The thought that you’ll get a better spread of candidates & recruiters will work harder for you in competition is an utter falsehood. I’ve decided not to take on any contingent work or be a part of any panel agreements unless I’m used exclusively for specific roles. When clients engage me exclusively, they place their 100% faith in me to deliver. I feel that pressure every day. I lose sleep over it & it profoundly motivates me to ensure I deliver them the best possible talent there is available. When you’re working contingently, it’s a sprint race; you cut corners, don’t qualify people properly, and you’re just trying to get to people before others call them & sling their CVs to the client. It leads to a terrible candidate/client experience; you don’t have time for due diligence or in-depth sourcing, meaning you won't access the best available talent. #softwarerecruitment #contingent #exclusive #panels #psa

Are you unsure which recruitment search is best for your business? Consider the differences between contingent and retained searches. Contingent searches may seem appealing, with no upfront payment and the recruiter proving themselves before you pay. However, they are supporting multiple clients at once, meaning your role most likely will not receive the attention it deserves. On the other hand, retained searches offer an exclusive recruiter who is focused on your role and delivering quality candidates ASAP. By putting your trust in them, they know and expect to deliver quality candidates to you sooner than later. So why work with a contingent recruiter who most likely will cost you more money in the long run? If you want a recruiter who is dedicated to getting you the people you need, contact me or MJL Recruiting & Consulting for a retained search to bring you the candidates you need, yesterday. We'll save you money, while removing all of your headaches, roadblocks and frustrations, while giving you your time back around recruiting/hiring. #retainedsearch #hiringnow #changemakers

CONTINGENT. I'm sure you might hear or see this term a lot from recruitment firms but might not know what it means. A contingency service means that the actual service or final payment is dependent upon something. Michael Page's contingency service means that a client's payment to us is only contingent upon hire - basically the service is free up until that point! Costs are high right now so paying a recruitment firm a large fee is something a lot of companies don't want to think about. But, if you could review resumes, interview candidates, get feedback on your hiring process, and make long lasting connections for your business FOR FREE - then why wouldn't you? Reach out to me for more information on our contingency agreement. Our services are entirely free until you actually hire one of our candidates into the business.

Partnering with the best in Building, Engineering & Trades since 2010 | Over 100 x ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ | WE ARE BPR
Why would I pay a fee up front when I can get 5 contingent recruiters on the job? Firstly, we will only be talking about retained search if them 5 haven’t quite produced the candidate you need. As you’ve been looking for so long you have received the same resumes from a couple of the agencies, who just aren’t right, and the candidates are a little confused too. Contingent works great usually, but, when the role is becoming critical, and the skillset is unique, then a retained search will help you get the role filled. Retaining us with an upfront fee facilitates a dedicated focus on your role (when we have a long list of contingent roles on too). Often our whole team are on a retained case, fostering a real partnership, developing a deeper understanding of organizational nuances, reasons behind the hire, and so much more. We work together until the role is filled. ✅ For the client - One recruiter. A guaranteed result. For us - Exclusivity, and commitment. For the candidates - A fully informed experience. And of course for one of them, a new and well suited career opportunity. #RetainedSearch

Search vs Contingent A lot of people step into recruitment without knowing too much about it... Often a good place to start is to break it down into Executive search and contingent as the two main models to recruit under. There are pros and cons to each but it comes down to what kind of person you are and what you will enjoy most. Often contingent recruitment is seen as high volume and uncapped earnings dependent on work ethic, market demand and sector buoyancy. It is also completed on a "no win no fee" basis. On the other hand, Executive search affords a more targeted approach, exclusivity, deeper research and longer deal cycles. Often part of the fees are paid upfront with the rest coming on delivery. I think the best way of looking at it is with contingent you may find the right candidate whereas with search you will. If you are considering stepping into the search world and don't know where to start - then please do reach out for a fully confidential, exploratory conversation. 📞 07825332369 📧 sam@rulerecruitment.com #jobs #employment #recruitment #search

***Hot take*** Retained recruitment won't fix your problems. I have seen alot of a contingent recruitment bashing on LinkedIn recently. Recruiters telling stories about how the put time and effort into a role only for the client deciding to take a different option. I get it, it's super frustrating when you put your time and effort into a vacancy for no result. But most of these issues come down to not qualifying the role properly or not controlling the client and process. So before you shift your entire recruitment model to a retained one, make sure you have looked into the quality of your processes and the execution of these processes If these are not on point, then you will still have problems with the retained approach. #recruitmentcoach #recruitment #retainedsearch
