Great and insightful Monday evening event hosted by CPO Track, where Rajiv Tanna, Co-Founder and CPO of Birdie, was interviewed by Namrata Sarmah (Nam). Once again, it was wonderful to see the product leadership community come together and hear the experiences of fellow leaders like Rajiv. Some of the key takeaways from Rajiv's interview: ⚡ The importance of having a clear mission and vision when building a company. Birdie is focused on using technology to improve home care and empower care professionals. This mission attracts top talent even though home healthcare tech may not seem as "sexy" as other sectors at first. ⚡ Building a strong team with complementary skills is crucial, even more so than your initial product idea. Rajiv focused on surrounding himself with talented engineers, designers, and, importantly, people with domain expertise like former care professionals. ⚡ When raising venture capital, prove your core hypotheses first and get to product-market fit before taking on large investments. This gives you more leverage and control. ⚡ Dogmatic focus on consistent execution and product quality is key to building trust and scaling a company, especially in a regulated industry like healthcare. Inspiring to see mission-driven founders like Rajiv who take a long-term view and build Birdie sustainably. Reflecting on this year with Thena, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude. It has really hit me this second go-around as a founder... the fact that nothing happens without the support of customers, investors, and advisors alike. My biggest mindset shift this year has been towards one of GRATITUDE – realizing how lucky we are to work with each other to build cool products, solve people's needs, and form a community. It’s ironic because it’s also been one of the hardest years of my life – the personal shift from running Branch to working on Thena full time; the tech market taking a beating; friends and colleagues losing jobs at an unprecedented rate; and trying to sell against all these headwinds. But what’s made it also one of the most rewarding years has been the PEOPLE. As we close out this year having launched Thena and scaled it way beyond what we expected possible, it all comes back to the people that made it happen. Thank you to our earliest supporters, advisors, and customers for all you did to help us build and improve our product: Ted, Whitney, Daphne, Kathryn, Wyle, Mohammed, Raghu, Kate, Lucy, Stephen, Damien, Pete, Nicholas, Shayan, Ryan, Moritz, June, Evan, Smita, Sethu, Lisa, Libby, Lucy, Taly, Melanie, Melissa, Terrance, Lane, Adam, Christopher, Taylor, Stephanie.
