3moAwesome. If setup correctly, Brightline West will be an even bigger game changer than the Florida brightline has been so far! But, for the love of all things good, I hope they replace the huge number of poorly protected crossings with flyovers, small bridges and overpasses. Traffic and people are not compatible with a modern train service, especially a fairly high speed one. The upfront cost of separating the public from the tracks will pay dividends in the long run, allowing higher speeds through built up areas and less disruption from incidents. This is something that 10yrs down the line will come to a head and the conversation will go like this... "if we had raised the tracks and allowed people and vehicles to run underneath instead of having to slow to run through more built up areas, the service would be much quicker and safer. We'd have less disruption for traffic waiting at the barriers for the train to pass, less delays because of barrier issues and less incidents/fatalities from people and cars being struck by trains." If you need an advisor that has experience of high traffic passenger rail services.... 🙋🏽♂️
