🌟 A truly inspiring (crazy?!?) story 🌟 My dad (Dave) has always had an unrelenting will to push himself and set an example for what dedication and passion can lead to. It’s one of the many reasons why NECS® Fleet Solutions, a family-owned service business, continues to flourish over the two decades he’s helped lead our incredible organization. Last year my dad joined one of the most exclusive clubs in the world by successfully finishing a marathon on all seven continents. Including Antarctica. Yes…you read that correctly. Two weeks ago the 73-year-old added yet another chapter to his story: The Great Wall Marathon in China 🏃♂️🏃 With 90-degree temps and challenging elevation (eight miles were ran on the Great Wall), my dad said to me, “Antarctica was brutal, but this was the most demanding and difficult race I’ve ever run...and it’s not even close.” Eight days (EIGHT!) after sustaining a torn meniscus and a hairline fracture in his knee while climbing over 5,000 steps to the tower on the Great Wall, he successfully completed the Thunder Dragon Marathon in Bhutan. Bhutan is a tiny Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayan Mountains nestled between Tibet and India. At 9,000 feet of elevation, it is one of the most remote and isolated places on earth. A fitting backdrop for another grueling race. While it’s a remarkable accomplishment (mind-boggling really), what stands out the most from this incredible journey are the connections made with goal-minded individuals worldwide. Through these marathons, my parents have forged lifelong friendships with people from diverse backgrounds, proving that the true value lies in forming bonds with others, no matter where you are from. This experience serves as a reminder to embrace life to the fullest, continuously challenge yourself, learn from others, and constantly seek out the extraordinary in the ordinary. Here's to living with curiosity, an adventurous spirit, and seeking growth every day. Keep chasing greatness in everything that you do, and you’ll inevitably be sitting in the front row of your life! 🌍💫 #Inspiration #Dedication #LifeLessons
