While we all have plenty of to-do list items that occupy our day-to-day, both at work and at home, it’s crucial we take a step back and remember the most important item on that list – prioritizing our own wellness.  This past week, we celebrated Well-being Week at Delta Dental Ins., which shed light on our ongoing commitment to providing our employees with the resources and support they need to protect their personal and professional health and well-being. After participating in this year’s activities, I took some time to reflect and kept landing on one question - how many of us are taking the time needed to prioritize our wellness journeys year-round?  I admit - I’ve fallen short in keeping this a focus in my own life sometimes. But I have found that when I make time for a hike with my family or a long mountain-bike ride, I get the mental, emotional and physical reset I need to get back on track.  I’m curious to hear from my LinkedIn community. Senior oral health care is an urgent and growing crisis for our nation. In less than ten years, our country will enter a historic reversal where older adults will outnumber children for the time in our nation’s history. A survey commissioned by Delta Dental of California and affiliates found that 80% of older American adults do not go to the dentist as often as recommended, with access being one of the main barriers. Delta Dental Ins. Community Care Foundation is uniquely positioned to address this issue head on, but we cannot and are not doing it alone.    I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our third partner, a consortium led by Health Center Partners of Southern California, to our Senior Oral Health Partnership Program. With the expansion of this program, we’re broadening the footprint of the incredible impact we’re continuing to make with our most vulnerable seniors.   I’m so proud of our amazing partners and our Foundation team. It was an honor to join our Delta Dental Ins. Community Care Foundation last week for their Senior Oral Health Summit. There’s no better example of living our purpose than the work we do with our Foundation. The way our Senior Oral Health program works to address the challenges faced by our most vulnerable seniors creates tangible and meaningful change for those who need it most.  Seeing firsthand how we collaborate with our incredible Senior Oral Health partners (Howard University College of Dentistry, Mary's Center, Dientes Community Dental Care, and Salud Para La Gente) to forge a path forward was incredibly inspirational and admirable. What we can achieve together in the coming years is boundless, and I’m eager to see the amazing outcomes of our joint efforts.      A huge shout-out to our Foundation team (Kenzie Ferguson, Kevin Ryan, Caitlin Walker, Judy Smith, Miranda Horton, and Tina Greenawalt) for bringing this summit to life! Ok, a moment of vulnerability: I don't think I am alone in not enjoying the experience of watching oneself on camera / or listening to your own voice on a recording. However, I had a wonderful conversation with Greg Giuliano, host of the Ultra Leadership podcast, and here we are, the interview is live for the world to judge.
