This mini-conference within a conference is critical to US partnerships throughout Africa. During African Chiefs of Defense Conference, representatives from 11 states National Guard units came together to discuss more ways they can work through the State Partnership Program to assist various African countries in matters of security cooperation! The State Partnership Program has been successfully building relations for more than 30 years and now includes 92 partnerships with 106 nations around the globe. Through SPP, the National Guard conducts military-to-military engagements in support of defense security goals but also leverages whole-of-society relationships and capabilities to facilitate broader interagency and corollary engagements spanning military, government, economic and social spheres. SPP is an incredibly important program that provides each Combatant Commander an unparalleled strategic advantage! Worth every penny and the dividends can’t be measured in mere dollars!
