Private town planners are responsible for assisting the public and property professionals to obtain development permits from Local and State government authorities in accordance with the relevant planning legislation. 🔍 Here Is What Your Private Town Planner CAN Do: 🏗️ Identify development potential via the planning regulations and legislation 🌳 Identify development constraints such as flooding issues or biodiversity overlays and how likely these are to be overcome. 🏡 Prepare and submit reports and forms to obtain development permits through the development assessment process. 👥 Negotiate outcomes between you and the government and any other stakeholders. ❌ What Your Town Planner CAN'T Do: 🚧 Lawyering: They might work wonders, but legal matters are beyond a town planners scope. 🏛️ Architectural Designs: While they create urban symphonies, intricate architectural designs require the finesse of skilled architects and building designers. 🔧 Engineering: You don't become a town planner because you love math. In Southport, a Grade II listed former manor house, vacant since 2010, began its transformation in 2021. Originally built between 1850-60, this historic building was set to be converted into six residential apartments, along with the construction of 20 new two-storey apartments in the surrounding gardens. The project had a contract value of £6.5 million. The project involved a detailed review of all costs incurred. By creating a cost plan based on the as-built drawings, we ensured that the expenses provided value for money. This analysis was crucial in managing the project's financial aspects. Our team facilitated discussions with the contractor to agree on all outstanding costs and settle the final account.
