Hello Everyone 📊 Exciting News! 🚀 I'm thrilled to share my recent project from my data analyst boot camp with codebasics, and I promise to keep it simple! 🤓 Project Title: AtliQ Hardware-Business Insights 360 In this project, I've broken down the complex business data into five easy-to-understand views: 1. Finance View: Here, we look at important numbers (KPIs) and elements of the P & L Statement. We identify the best and worst products and customers for each element of the P & L Statement. 2. Sales View and Marketing View: We dive into how well customers and products are doing. We evaluate and visualize key numbers like Net Sales and Gross Margin, making it easy to spot trends. We also give you insights into unit economics and marketing trends. 3. Supply Chain View: This view focuses on metrics like forecast accuracy, Net Error, ABS Error, and risk factors for customers and products. It helps you understand trends in Net error and forecast accuracy. 4. Executive View: This one's for the big bosses! It provides essential metrics for senior executives to make decisions. We cover key data for subzones, AtliQ market share, top customers and products by revenue, and revenue breakdown by divisions and channels. It was enlightening to delve into the roles of Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Product Data Scientist, and much more. What did I do today as a data scientist? 🧐 When I was in university, one of my biggest questions (besides "how am I supposed to get this coursework done?") was: What exactly do full-time employees do all day, every day? My lovely colleagues at the time in consulting could not help that much because the answer truly is "it depends" 😄 So here is an excerpt of one day: 🎙️ I had one planned meeting (1h) with a potential new client we met at a conference. ⏩️ Before that, I had a quick 45-minute sync call with the other participants of the call and prepared some specific showcase slides. 💡 The rest of the day was meeting-free, and I spent time collecting information about current projects at the company and outlining a plan on how best to spend my time going forward. Keep in mind this is the "quiet season" since I just wrapped up a client project. So there are no immediate daily to-dos. Instead, I can focus on professional development and helping out other team members once I'm synced up in the coming days 😊

🚀 All good things must come to an end... Well, almost all good things – just ask The Simpsons! 📺 After an incredible 5-year journey at WooliesX, it's time for me to hang up my data boots as General Manager of Data Products. 📊💼 Starting as a hands-on lead data scientist, I embraced challenges and opportunities, gradually transitioning to Head of Data Science, and ultimately, General Manager of Data Products. Guided by inspiring mentors and supported by an amazing team, it's been a journey of continuous learning and evolution. It's been a truely a ride of innovation, challenges, and a whole lot of coffee. ☕ But as they say, every end is a new beginning, and I'm beyond grateful for the amazing team and experiences I've had here. Our team led the development of flagship data products at WooliesX, including the Decision Engine, Product Recommendation Engine, and Real-Time Content Personalisation. Our team created an in-house product recommendation engine, personalised the experience of 13M Rewards members, and implemented real-time content personalisation on Woolworths' website and Rewards app. Additionally, we devised a novel success measurement framework for precise ROI calculation to attribute incrementally per customer per channel, bolstering advertiser confidence. Besides the on canvas assets, Strategic partnerships with tech giants like Google and Meta solidified our position as industry innovators. We also prioritised talent development, growing the data tribe to 110 scientists and engineers and BI analysts fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and cross-disciplinary collaboration. I personally take pride in every analyst that become scientist or engineer in our team and every well deserved promotions. Before I sign off, heartfelt thanks to Ram, Faye, Amanda for their unwavering support, and to Steve 🎯 for illuminating the power of data science from the get-go. To Mark, my first manager at WooliesX, thank you for the opportunity. Each of you has made an indelible impact on my professional journey, and I'm grateful. A big shoutout to my amazing team at WooliesX, including every member of the Data Products Tribe, and especially Shanglin, Jacqueline, David, Matt, Kenichi, Marc, Rohit, Sean, Deepak, and others, for their dedication. And to old colleagues like Andy, Shen, James, Alexander, Yury, and Efrosini – collaborating with you was a joy, leading to lasting friendships. 🙏🚀 Now, onto the next chapter – I'm planning the next steps ( stay tuned!) while backpacking South America with my beautiful fiancé for the next 5 months. Currently resting in an island in Brazil after trekking towards Machu Picchu in Peru at 4600m altitude. Continuing our journey in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and beyond.
