One week ago I was driving home from the Revenue Operations Alliance Summit and let me tell you how humbling it was connecting with others who struggled with the same things professionally. The last 2 companies I served were small groups striving for growth. A lot of orhanizations that have established and understand the need for RevOps professionals are typically middle and larger sized companies, but they are all struggling to keep up with their insanely fantastic and overwhelming growth. There needs to be a blend, the best of both worlds where you are building a RevOps team WHILE scaling, not as an afterthought. How do you make a business case for something "new" when the rest of your business is still operating like it would have 20+ years ago? 🤔 It's time to face the music. We want MORE as individuals and organizations. You invest in your personal health and needs by eating your greens and saving up in that 401K, but you're not likely as quick to jump into investing in the long term health of your company with the right structure growth plan because dollars are moving now. Last week at the summit we discussed the average tenure of a CRO is 18 months. EIGHTEEN MONTHS! When on average it takes about a year to get ramped and a thorough understanding of the business, industry, and market needs, many expect results and change immediately, but hate the impact to company culture that comes with a massive sudden shake up. RevOps is an investment in your business. A revenue operations team is designed to serve all revenue impacting arms of the organization. What other strategies are you using to connect sales, marketing, and product to establish the unit that truly is your revenue opportunity? Any of these branches can cause total misalignment and derailment in the business if they aren't in sync. It's time to weave better intentions into our organizations. Just like the quilts my grandmother makes for each of her descendants, these works of art remind us that good things take time- but gosh how beautiful are they when they are done! These are intentionally made to be kept for years and are a meaningful reminder of those who are with us along the way.

The day kicked off with a fantastic opening session from our CEO, Sam Toulson, Chief Marketing Officer, Briana McCrory (She/Her) and Chief Product Officer, Rob Stote. Plus, some insightful learnings on humanising business culture from our keynote speaker Chris Baréz-Brown. There were some great takeaways from all of the breakout sessions – from leveraging technology in order to safeguard profitability, to the value of resource management from a partners' perspective. To reignite valuable conversations and learnings, I am reposting a fun video montage from the inspiring 2023 QED Global Summit. This event featured two days of presentations and discussions with some of the best minds in fintech. QED Investors demonstrated its commitment to prioritizing the well-being of CEOs and their teams by inviting me to lead a session on mental health education and to facilitate genuine discussions about the stressors they face. The summit culminated in a powerful message: "We want you to feel supported by us and to create cultures where mental health conversations are welcomed." My vision is for more conferences to create space for authenticity, enabling individuals to share struggles, resources, and uplift one another. As an Executive Coach with a background in clinical therapy, I see the urgent need to shift the paradigm so that mental health is no longer stigmatized or concealed. It should be seen as a shared responsibility, rather than an issue to be tackled alone. There is vast potential in expanding the support network available to founders, both from VC partners and from within their own community. I will continue to advocate for this cause and guide my clients to recognize the link between performance, productivity, self-awareness, and well-being.
