Future energy system: where do we go from here? 🤔 After our collaboration with Future Cleantech Architects at #MSC 2024, we were excited to attend their Festival this week in Remscheid, Germany. This event gathered about 150 experts, including researchers, think-tanks, policy stakeholders, and private sector representatives from industries, startups, and investors. Our colleague, Thomas Röhrl, participated in a panel on the best solutions for future energy systems, where they explored new innovative policy tools. Here are our key takeaways: 💡 Complementing Intermittent Energy: Clean and flexible energy sources are vital to support solar and wind energy, ensuring a resilient system without relying on gas turbines or polluting methods. ⚡ Grid Expansion: Critical for clean power generation but hindered by permitting bottlenecks. 🔋 Seasonal Storage Economics: Lasting change is only likely under financial pressures, such as high gas price shocks like in 2022. It was inspiring to engage with such a knowledgeable group dedicated to the future of clean energy. Let’s continue to innovate for a sustainable future. #Cleantech #RenewableEnergy #FutureEnergySystems #Innovation #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #GridExpansion #EnergyPolicy #ResponsibleLeadership Tobias Lechtenfeld Maria Leis Energy Resilience Leadership Group Breakthrough Energy Tech for Net Zero
