🔍 Distinguishing truth from fiction in environmental claims is tough! A 2020 EU study revealed over half of such claims are vague or misleading, and 40% lack verifiable evidence. 🌍 To empower consumers, the EU is introducing the Digital Product Passport (DPP) for clothing, ensuring access to reliable environmental information. The DPP will independently assess and certify apparel based on durability, repairability, recyclability, and more. Consumers will be able to scan a QR code on your garment to see its full environmental profile! We are here to help brands comply with these new standards. Ready to learn more? Following a provisional agreement in December 2023, official adoption of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU ESPR) is anticipated very soon. Once adopted, it will establish pioneering performance and disclosure requirements for virtually all products sold in Europe. In addition to mandatory digital product passports, it will also ban destruction of certain unsold goods, including textiles. Formal adoption of the ESPR is a foundation that cements mandatory ecodesign standards across Europe. However, specific requirements are still being defined through studies and working groups. These will be issued in subsequent delegated acts from the European Commission. 📚 The Digital Product Passport regulation is on its way. Soon, a number of industries, starting with batteries and textiles, will have to show a Digital Product Passport with the required data collected on each product. The DPP's purpose is to collect and share product data throughout the entire value chain to demonstrate a product's sustainability, environmental, and recyclability attributes. We have compiled a list of 6 main arguments as to why businesses should look into and start implementing Digital Product Passport. 👇 If you'd like to learn more about the DPP regulation and the role of traceability in regulatory compliance, don't hesitate to contact us. http://psqr.eu/contact-us/ #digitalproductpassport #traceability #dpp #eugreendeal #traceabilitysoftware

Before you know it, your company will need digital product passports for everything you make, buy, sell and ship as part of the overarching European Union (EU) Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan. The intent is to ensure that everything from raw materials to finished goods can be tracked throughout the entire production process, and that you can provide confirmation that goods conform to established quality and sustainability standards and regulations. As a result, we should see an elevated level of transparency and sustainability throughout supply chains. What makes this even more exciting, though, is the opportunity to increase consumer confidence in the safety and quality of products such as batteries, electronics, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals that can be sensitive to environmental conditions. With the Digital Product Passport (DPP) legislation specifically, you will have to put some foundational systems in place to increase visibility into your supply chain to show the sustainability and circularity of your products and processes. You’ll also need to be transparent about your quality monitoring/control measures. While these changes might seem like a heavy lift at first, I actually think they’re going to make your life so much easier than you realise. https://lnkd.in/dcq4UKdg

Dealing with EU Packaging Regulations Can Be Tough This is especially true for production companies that operate across multiple countries. Often, these standards mean that product packaging must include so many symbols and warnings that it becomes confusing. This isn’t ideal when you’re trying to appeal to customers. For the last few days, I've been studying on DPP(Digital Product Passport) By 2030, every textile product for sale in the European Union will need a digital product passport (DPP). It will most likely take the form of a scannable QR code or some other tag. This DPP, once accessed, will include information about the product’s origins, material composition, supply chain, sustainability, recyclability, and possibly much more—all gathered in one place from various federated sources. #learning #DPP #EU
