The National Association of Healthcare Revenue & Integrity recently released its 2023 Leadership Council Survey Part 2. The report focuses on navigating the revenue cycle and its shift to automation. Leaders from Augusta University Medical Center, UnityPoint Health, Penn Highlands Healthcare, and 3M Health Information participated in the industry panel. Highlights from the survey include: - 74% of survey participants use some form of automation in their regular processes. - Health systems are utilizing third-party vendors for claims submissions (18%) and patient billing (18%). - Automation in the revenue cycle is meeting the expectations of respondents and automation for claims submission received the highest satisfaction. - The areas that would benefit greatly from more automation are authorizations, denials management, denials tracking, and charge reconciliation.
