As we gather to honor Memorial Day, we remember not only those who have served and sacrificed for our country but also the ongoing journey toward healing and justice within our communities. 💛This day serves as a poignant reminder of the cost of war and the importance of nurturing a society that reflects the values we stand for—equality, respect, and dignity for all. ⚖️ In remembering the past, we acknowledge the wounds of social injustices that continue to impact many in our society. Today, we recommit to healing these wounds through education, understanding, and empathy. By fostering environments where healing leads to growth, we strengthen our communities and create a foundation for sustainable peace and prosperity. ☮️ 🕊️ Together, we can transform our collective suffering into a source of strength. United in our diversity and driven by our common goals, we support each other to build a future where everyone enjoys a better quality of life. Let us use this day to reflect on our shared values and reinvigorate our efforts to move forward as one. 🌱 🤲 On this Memorial Day, let us pledge to remember, to heal, and to unite. Together, we build the pillars of a resilient community that honors the sacrifices of the past by crafting a just and hopeful future. 🌟

If you want a glimpse at the extraordinary heart, soul, and intellect of New York’s Chief Judge, watch this short video of his remarks at our recent event.
Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the newly renamed Midtown Community Justice Center and its contributions to community safety and security, Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson delivers a candid and celebratory speech in its honor. In the spirit of the holiday season, he remembers the themes of compassion and shared humanity in films like "Miracle on 34th Street" and their likeness to the work and diverse practitioners at Midtown—calling the latter New York’s own “Miracle on 54th Street.” Their long-standing, innovative foundation of meeting individuals with resources and support rather than a sentence in court is, in short, miraculous. 30 years of justice represents more than 30 years of a court—it represents 30 years of community, 30 years of humanity, and 30 years of love… and that legacy is here to stay. Watch the full panel of speakers here 📢 : https://bit.ly/48loj1N And subscribe to our YouTube channel here 📺 : https://bit.ly/47VujPd

It often happens that I get so caught up in my daily life (and head) but I am so thankful for having joined Latinos for Education as a 2024 Latino Board Fellow. Connecting with people who have a shared vision of Latino representation, education, and advancement is invigorating and powerful! - 40% of Fortune 1000 companies are inclusive of Latinos on their corporate boards, reflecting a 5 percentage point increase from 2022 – the second most notable increase since 2019. - With most of the progress occurring outside of the Fortune 100, minimal progress continues in the Fortune 100, shifting from 53% to 54% in Latino representation. - While slow, Latino board representation continues to rise. The numbers have increased to 5.4% of Fortune 500 seats held by a Latino and 4.9% among Fortune 1000, a 1% and .8% respectively, one of the most notable increases for both segments since 2020. Please take a look at Latinos for Education and their amazing programs that support communities across the United States
Introducing Ana María Gomez: a dedicated professional committed to fostering positive change within communities. Congratulations to City of San Antonio's Ready to Work initiative for being honored with this year’s Results for America Sharman Stein Award for Storytelling Changemakers. The platform tracks participant information, program outcomes and sends partners real-time feedback about critical issues; 💡 An online approved course catalog, that lists over 900 subsidized courses offered by over 70 local training providers that are aligned with targeted occupations in high demand; and 💡 A public dashboard with real-time metrics on applicant interviews, training enrollment, and job placements. #OpportunityAccelerator #PowerofPlace #Workforce
